Super Eagles’ Head Coach Sunday Oliseh has invited 18 overseas-based professionals for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.

Eagles’ first –choice goalkeeper and skipper Vincent Enyeama headlines the list that also has defenders Godfrey Oboabona, Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo, midfielders Rabiu Ibrahim, Lukman Haruna and Joel Obi, and forwards Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike and Anthony Ujah.
There are a number of surprises, in line with Oliseh’s earlier pledge to make current form and first –level football key indices for selection to the Super Eagles.

There are goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, midfielder Izunna Ernest Uzochukwu and forwards Emem Eduok, Sylvester Igboun and Moses Simon.

All the 18 players, who will join up with the 23 home boys who arrived camp in Abuja on Monday, are expected in Abuja on Monday, 31st August, 2015 at the latest.

The Super Eagles take on Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, September 5.

Hmmm.... Well, I expected to see Ambrose and Echiejile on that list. Well this may jst b d break for Kingsley Madu and troost-Ekong.

That midfield tho... too many returnees.Looks lean to me. Well mayb another opportunity for Lukman and Joel Obi to prove their worth. I dnt see any natural holding midfielder on that list. Me think we still need Mikel for that role.Babatunde's link up play from d middle will also b missed.

For the forward, i had expected to see atleast one of Success, Ezekiel or Iheanacho. Good to see Emenike back.
Odion Ighalo who to me is Nigeria's most inform striker now is also missing.Ujah made d list ahead of Ighalo ok o.

And hu is dat Silvester Igboun? shocked

No b mouth our home based Eagles can beat this team.

Seat belt on Chelsea's bench has denied Mikel a chance.If these other midfielders can do well, the door might as well be shut against Obi completely. Once second behind Messi and now a "bencher", sad story.

Wishing them the best but can't place my hope on them yet.

I believe Oliseh knows this players he invited well enough to prosecute the Tanzania match. Those left aside will definitely be invited in subsequent call ups. At the end of the day what we need is good football and 3 points. People will not care about the players invited if we play good football and run away with 3 points.

Foreign based indeed, if someone ain't careful he might lose his teeth while trying to pronounce those clubs... Good to see mikel outta the list, imagine other players leaving their clubs cuz they need playing time to improve, mikel on his part decides to stick to bench warming cuz of money or British citizenship
