“MBIERI NWAOTUOKE” NOMINTATES INTERIM LEADERSHIP
… ENDS YEARS OF LEADERSHIP PLURALITY

Mbieri people may have ended many years of leadership plurality as the leadership of the Traditional Rulers, the members of their Council, the Presidents General and their members, recently, nominated eleven man Interim Executive Officers to pilot the affairs of the entire Mbieri people at home and abroad under the Apex umbrella body of “MBIERI NWAOTUOKE Cultural Union”.

The Interim Executive members were nominated during “International Annual Mbieri Nwaotuoke Conference 2015” convened by Mbieri Council of Ndi Eze led by HRH, Eze Peter Opara, which produced Dr. Celestine Durunna as President General, Chief Basil Agunwoke as Vice President, Dr. Isaac Anukam also emerged the Secretary General while Hon. Chief Uche Mba emerged the Publicity cum Liaison Officer with other seven others.

In a communique signed by thirteen Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Peter Opara of thirteen autonomous communities who are joined by thirteen Presidents-General during an “International Annual Mbieri Nwaotuoke Conference 2015” convened by the Council of Ndi Eze Mbieri, the newly nominated officers were charged to take charge of the affairs of the people of Mbieri and to conduct election within ninety days of their administration.

Inaugurating the Interim Executive members of Mbieri Nwaotuoke Cultural Union, the Chairman of Council of Ndi Eze Mbieri, HRH, Eze Peter Opara thanked the members of his Council, the Presidents General of the thirteen autonomous communities and the generality of Mbieri people for their resolve to move Mbieri forward by coming under one umbrella to chart a new course for the people of Mbieri home and abroad.

Speaking to the cross section of Mbieri people, which had in attendance, Professors, Politicians, Professionals, Traders and Artisans he told them never to go back to the old ways where collective goal was a scarce commodity.

In the communique read by Eze-Elect Austin Odunwa, reading in parts; “ …We the entire sons and daughters of MBIERI NWAOTUOKE represented by the Traditional Rulers of Thirteen autonomous Communities and their Presidents-General that make up MBIERI KINGDOM, THE Vllage heads, the Title Chiefs, the Academia, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders and the Captians of Industries herein declare that: We have successfully nomitated and supported the interim leaders who will pilot the affairs of the entire Mbieri Kingdom (Home and Abroad) and to organize a credible election within ninety days….”

The communique among other things sought to work with all the affiliate associations and organizations that promote the interest of Mbieri people to achieve their set objective. I t also congratulated Governor Okorocha and his Deputy for their well-deserved victory in the last election. They also pledged their loyalty and support to Governor Okorocha while appreciation the the good working relationship that exists between the Governor and his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere.

Imo Deputy Governor who came towards the end of the programme disclosed his happiness over the resolve of Mbieri people to work together and pursue their collective goal as a indivisible entity.

He reminded them that with the human and material resources at the disposal of the people of Mbieri of the people of Mbieri there is hardly any challenge they cannot surmount.

He therefore congratulated the traditional Rulers and their Presidents General for taking up the challenge, as he urged them to be focus and work as a team and to be rest assured of the enormous gains in working together.

The event witnessed attendance from Mbieri people from Enugu, Porthacourt, Lagos State, Aba and those in Diaspora as they all pledged allegiance to the umbrella organization for all other bodies for the people of Mbieri at home and in Diaspora.
