I just passed there, it is truly horrific! The truck skidded to one side of the road, I guess he was trying to avoid the oncoming bus. FG and RCC has the whole blame, for so long now they are still constructing the road, road diversions here and there. How many lives are we going to sacrifice for road construction?

Why blame the FG and RCC for a driver overspeeding?

Nigerians never like to take any responsibility. Sad

This is what happens in a country that doesn't conduct Drive Tests before issuing Driver's licences.

I see a lot of PUBLIC TRANSPORT DRIVERS seeping all sorts of alcoholic drinks in the early mornings, from Alomo, to Orijin, to Jeedi, to Opa-eyin, e.t.c and l ask myself, if l enter a public transport, are these the same type of animals l will entrust my life into their hands, for the duration of the journey? I then shudder with fear!

I dont like driving, especially long distance on these our roads but on second thought, l think l trust myself, to look after myself, with God's help, than to put my faith in the hands of these drunk Eediots without respect for human life.

I have also seen a lot of Policemen carrying AK47 going to such joints to smoke Indian hemp, use lethal drugs and drinking same alcohol, while on duty! And l ask myself: what happens when you give a drugged and drunk "officer" a gun and ask him to deal and maintain law with the public?
unnecessary deaths is the answer. ....and you wonder why some of our Policemen are overly aggressive and dangerous?

In "saner climes", Drivers of Public transport or anyoen who deals directly and holds the like of the Public in their care, are put through SPECIAL VERY RIGOROUS CHECKS, RANDOMLY AND ALL THE TIMES, to test for their sanity and any infringement results in a BAN from driving and particularly from driving or dealing with the public!

I can only plead with the head of this country, President Buhari (the buck stops at his table!) to please sanitise the mad country!
How can l even ask a drunken Policeman to "MONITOR" that drivers of public transport are BREATHALYSED and ensured to be free from alcohol?
Do l sound like an apostle of "Goat and Yam" theory?

Its sad that some "born-throway" thug decided to waste his life and cut-short the destiny of innocent people who paid to be transported from one point to another,.... not to be wasted like this.

I am crying as l write this and that is not something l do so often. cry cry cry cry

SPEECHLESS! I cover everyone of us with the blood of Jesus, our going out and coming-in shall proceed according to plan and our blood shall not be used to wash the road and appease the enemy, IJN.

It's quite unfortunate that these things happen on our roads on daily basis. Sometimes it may not be the drivers fault, a trailer can fail brake, loose control and there it happens. That's why you should never neglect committing your journey into God's care always.
Secondly, it is clear that it was a head_on collision ;now if all our roads are well duallised, at least head_on collision will be drastically reduced if not ejected. The government own the citizens alot in providing good roads, water, good health_care, and quality education, and the security of lives and properties. these are primary and undebatable.
RIP to the dead

you don't understand bro!

The road was billed to be completed during jonathan's tenure, lack of complete payment made RCC stall the completion of the road. The road now has the full recipe for disaster (as you have seen) many new road users are not even aware of the diversions, they think it is 'one way' hence, wanting to overtake anyhow, the other side of the road is blocked due to construction. Please ply that road and give me feedback so you would comprehend what I typed.

(Rom9:15)For he says to Moses,“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have
compassion.”...We should just keep praying that God's mercy will continue to emcompass us throughout our journey on all these Nigeria roads in deplorable states and those reckless drivers.May all those lost souls rest in perfect peace.

Would you say Mortuary and Morbid anatomy officials who cut bodies into pieces in the course of their work are "unfeeling"?

If someone did not "snap the pictures", how would YOU have seen it, to be able to come here and "comment"?
My point is, we can not all sleep with our heads in the same direction, like SHEEP!

Bringing this online might just spur someone in Govt to do the needful, who knows?
It might help some family to identify a "victim" instead of roaming around not knowing what has happened to the person!

Somebody has to do the snapping, the reporting, the assistance, the ambulance, ..... different people, different responsibilities, and they are all IMPORTANT for the society.

Let us learn to give credit, where credit is due.

RCC is a very wicked company!
It collects money, does the job half way and then abandon it.

Its like that on the Ijebu-Ode Oore road as well.
The company is untouchable since it is owned by that scumbag that just passed away in Ife!

The government is responsible to enforce the dos and don't of the high ways. Where you have too many inexperienced and drunk drivers plying our roads and killing innocent Nigerians, this is a time to sprang into action and not merely to rely on advert believing that will do the majick. The FRSC to me are best at picking dead bodies(undertakers) and nothing more. What happen with organising an exercise to determine which driver is mentally balance and practical qualified to mantle the stirring or is that too much to ask? These are the duties of any government that value its people. It is not all about collecting dues and issuing new number plates to extort drivers. Certain things that happen here are avoidable and unnecessary, put we as Nigerians are too unserious and nonchalant to demand the right thing.

The accident happend on the same ijebu ode - ore road...after akifosile the road is so bad heading to ijebu ode,you would see "drum like heavy" potholes...also from akifosile to ore, there is diversion on the road and many road users do not know thereby overspeeding with confidence.
I was coming from ijebu ode last week and i gave a man a free lift before akinfosile, the next thing he started sleeping after 5mins becos i had my AC on,i marched on my break suddenly intentionally and he woke up,i told him man if you dare sleep again,i will drop u off in the middle of nowhere,he dare not try it again till we got to ore..RIP to d dead

You're right. Especially the drivers that pilot buses such as the one in the accident. Many of the accidents on that route involved buses painted with white and two light blue lines. Most of them are Ibadan-Lagos-Ibadan buses. Many of the drivers are always under the influence when they drive. Avoid them like the plague, if you can. Those nuccas seem to have a death wish. Sadly, they tow along hapless passengers.

R.I.P to the dead. May God grant them sweet repose. Really tragic stuff there.
