Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO) is a popular principle in the world of communications. GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) is a concept common to computer science and mathematics: the quality of output is determined by the quality of the input. So, for example, if a mathematical equation is improperly stated, the answer is unlikely to be correct. Similarly, if incorrect data is input to a program, the output is unlikely to be informative.
Amazingly, this principle holds in our lives as believers also. We often deceive ourselves that, “Christ has died for us, so I only have to go about my normal way of life, ask for forgiveness, go to church and read the bible”. That is a big lie. Christ did not die for you to continue In your sins, “Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is” (1 John 3:6).
A corn mill machine for instance mills corn to dough. In fact my family back in the day was privileged to own a corn mill machine, so I am quite in tune with how it works. When you fed the machine with corn, the end product was corn dough. When you fed the machine with cassava, the end product was cassava dough and so on: thereby you get whatever you drop in akin to what the bible states in Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” So remember as a believer you are always goig to reap what you are sowing sooner or later if you don’t repent.
What are you sowing into you? Always remember; garbage in garbage out. I remember it came a point in my life that all that was on my mind was sex (immoral sex). Even when I had been born again, I was still struggling with unholy thoughts of adultery and I remember how I would pray and weep virtually each night and ask God to help me. What I failed to realize then was what I was feeding myself with. I was engulfed in pornography. I was always behind my computer or phone dirty-chatting women often receiving pictures of their unclothedness and all that. So what would be the end products? Same feed will be made manifest and I tell you my manhood was always erect. Shamefully, there were even periods my manhood was erect whilst praying (can you imagine that?) What took me out of that situation was my prayer, fasting and consciously desisting from pornography and dirty chatting. Prayer and fasting alone could not do it so it would be like washing a pig thoroughly and moments later it returns to the mud. The washing yes, will keep it clean again, but its indiscipline of going back to the mud will make it dirty again.
Beloved, let us feed ourselves with the word of God instead so we will bring forth the fruit of the spirit of the word of God, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness and faith” (Galatians 5:22). Let us instead of engaging in worldly things in the form of Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like that will bring forth destruction onto us; let us rather abide in the word as the word abides in us (John 15 verse17). Let us be the light that we are to the world. Let us all shun the hypocrisy of “public Christianity” but “private paganism”. God bless you.
