Pls help ,,I just connected normal antenna to my new LG TV,I scanned for channels,,,it displays DTV-80 channels,(startime stations),,,TV -13 channels(nigerian tv stations),,,my surprise is only starguide channel showing among the 80 channels, and I did not connect anything startime,(neither startime decoder nor its antenna to my TV),,pls house ,what's happening |

I don't know whether you have read some of my post on iptv, I said new TV (lcd or plasma) from 2015 will come with inbuilt iptv android tv or T2 Previously people have been buying android tv separately but new TV from 2015 comes with inbuilt iptv android tv or T2. You must be a lucky guy to get T2 and Android tv inbuilt on your TV that why you can receive t2 channels |

idsamoo: You can only watch the free channels because the manufacturer made it so, the only t2 providers in Nigeria is startimes and gotv but more free t2 channels will be soon available in Nigeria.. Secondly check your TV manual whether it have iptv or internet, or where you can input 3g modem |

hugman: Digital terrestrial broadcasting is the new thing, all tv stations were supposed to have completed the migration earlier this year but you know Nigeria. Our government has asked for an extension to Dec 2018 or so . Hopefully, our local stations would migrate. I learnt new licenses are granted only to digital - ready broadcasters. So if your TV can receive T2, you're ahead of the curve. |

idsamoo:just got a new Bush TV and I found myself in d same situation as u. after scanning my TV shows 80 dtv channels though all are blank except starguide which is audible. curious as u are I did a little googling about it and I found out that its all about digital broadcasting. I also found out that all tv manufacture d after 2007 has an inbuilt dtv receiver, meaning that you don't need a decoder to watch digital TV. sadly, our dear country is yet to make the much anticipated transition. actually had Nigeria transited as earlier scheduled, u and I should have been enjoying those stations for free with better quality pictures than those we get on startimes, dstv or any pay TV u can think of because we will b getting d transmission directly from d station and not from d satellite. u can read more about it here www.hamuniverse.com/freehdtvreception.html we still have a long way to go. |

I bought a new Lg 50 inchs plasma tv,I saw dtv on it so I scanned it and it gave me 90 dtv channels . But out of the 90 channels, only 1 channel showed which was stv-guide and I checked the signal strength which was 92 and signal quality which was 100 but I am unable to watch startimes pls what is the problem. |

you cannot view the paid ones. Someone already explained this thing above u have to buy startimes decoder. your TV has inbuilt Digital Receiver, but for u to use it it will have to have a slot for the startimes card, and Startimes will have to pair your TV to that card the way they pair their decoder and card. |

I experienced same thing with my LG 43" LF5100 LED Game TV. The difference is dat on mine, abt 113-130 channels are searched, but only few are showing. On StarTimes only STV guide is showing but I also was able 2 pick Metro channels 2. And Dubai One, Huda, Sound City, Travel, Metro, Sports Extra, SportNet4, Nat Geo, EWTN, Love World, Discovery, History, are showing. So I was wondering if more stations will show if I get a dish antenna connected  |

Mine is LG 32" LJ500D Model. I just plugged in my GOTV antenna directly to it and scanned only to receive 250 channels on DTV which included both GOTV and Startimes channels, two radio stations also came up and two local tv stations. But I could only view the free ones: Discovery Family, NTAi, and the adverts. Thanks for all the enlightenment thrown about it. I though I could subscribe them and dump my decoder � 2 Likes |
