Following her decision to skip the 2015 All Africa Games, the National Sports Commission and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria have placed a ban on sprinter, Blessing Okagbare; excluding her from representing the country, at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.


Okagbare, had a dismal outing at the IAAF World championships in Beijing, China. She claimed that injury forced her out of the competition, where Nigerians expected her to win a medal having run the third fastest time of the season in the 100m.
After the Beijing meet, Okagbare told officials of the AFN not to expect her in Congo. But amazingly, she showed up in Zurich, full of life and energy. She ran 10.98 seconds in the Diamond League, much to the chagrin of athletics officials who gave her the benefit of the doubt because of her purported injury.

The NSC and the AFN examined the circumstances bordering her decision to dock the AAG, and came to the conclusion to deny the athlete any chance of appearing in next year’s Olympics.

She's disappointed with her last performance, nd she won't be happy jubilating with an AAG gold medal which she's sure of winning. Blessing doesn't need a PsYchologist, it is the AFN that need a very sound Psychologist. Blessing was harshly judged and the f**ls are pushing her away, don't be surprised seeing her flagging for a more better country in Rio next year

Am even happy now that she is banned self so she will have some breathing space from Nigerians giving her different names.

Wish Warri is a country, she for kuku just represent her people as the people she was representing decided to tag her with that when she came last at the finals.

If she can't make the US team, I believe she can make the Canadian or British team

she's free to make any team she wants to make. If not for condition, aren't there faster girls in Nigeria? A country of 160 million and we keep depending on one person for something as basic as running. Una no dey shame? Instead of advocating for the useless AFN and NSC to find better athletes, we'll be here idolizing an inconsistent one. Let them ban her, if na civil servant do this kain thing, dem for suspend am.
