Blizzle: You dont need to defend an idiiot except you want to be seen as an idiiot too Check out his sins on this thread. I guess they are hunting him now. You dont expect such a foolish ediot's thread to have peace with all his baggages in other peoples thread. Btw he was the first to attack the igbos on his thread which is as a result of the humiliation he receive on a previous similar igbo thread. https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made 1 Like 1 Share |

manchy7531: It shall not be well with you if you don't quote a single post of mine on that thread. I think you have started seeing me in your nightmares. I know what you're trying to do. You're subtly trying to divert peoples attention to that thread cos of inferiority complex generated from seeing pics on this thread. Where you have failed is that, that thread is about the whole of south east. So go ahead, compare the whole of south east to Oyo State and still you guys won't measure up. Finally, if you don't post a single comment of mine on that thread here, you are a bastarrd. 3 Likes 1 Share |

vicadex07:Oga do your self a favour and read my previous post, then you will know am yoruba, nothing wrong with celebrating heritage, but celebrating mediocrity is not what I am not in agreement with, that said we can do better once we admit there is something wrong, av travelled far and wide is this SW plus EDO, i av never being to delta, i lived in Ibadan for 7 years, I know a lot of high brow area in IB,have seen poverty at an alarming rate in some places in southwest, e ma je ki a tan ara wa,we can achieve more if we task ourselves and build our communities, the syndrome of someone might envy my wealth in my family and he or she will do something against me is what is making our people to go back home and develop their communities, we believe so much that someone might attack us,my friend is from Gbogan, the house he built in Idimu in Lagos if built in Gbogan in Osun state it will add to the aesthetics of the place,am from lagos my first project is being done here,Don't get me wrong the potential of that city is so large it's GDP is supposed to be competing with some countries in Africa not even Alaigbo at all. 1 Like |

Hmmm, OP, there is no amount of pictures display here can make people see the beauty of IBADAN. For those of you that are saying one thing or the other about this ancient city, all I wil say is that ur views wil change when you get the oppurtunity to live there. Until you are a resident there, you wil never understand what he OP is saying. Apart from beautiful GRA's scattered all over the city, you can stil see other beautiful areas across the city. IBADAN has more than ten GRA,s in case some of you are not aware. So, spending just som days in d city wil not giv u d ample oppurtunity to allign wit d point d OP was trying to make. 2 Likes |

manchy7531:pls name the 3 standard malls so we can google for confirmation, cos all you've said are what your borthers have being saying without pix or links. manchy7531:pls, provide a link to the above claim. manchy7531:Roban stores is a store, not a mall. Such stores are littered in ibadan and the whole of nigeria. Mall is different from stores and shopping complex. Perhaps, that's what enugu has too. manchy7531: Likewise every other state. How come the ibadan you love to hate has more than 5 malls while anambra is still yet to finish one? manchy7531:@bold. So long they are not as big as lekki mall(which is even smaller than what ibadan boasts of) then they are fit to be called mini-malls. . The people building them there no they won't be getting much customers that's why they built sopping complexes which you now mistake for malls. manchy7531:if the below pix of shopping complexes are what you call MALLS, then am sorry, ibadan is littered with those. We are talking about mega malls, you are naming shopping stores. manchy7531:all the above are not MALLS but shopping complexes or stores which are also littered in ibadan and everywhere else in nigeria. Browse through this thread again and compared them with the mega malls in ibadan. 1 Like |

manchy7531: Even Berem can do better here - she can give a better excuse than you regarding why Gov. Okorocha seems to believe he is doing favour to only Orlu people if he dredges the town and asphalts the streets which are heavily built on both sides with houses. How can anyone go to ask Berem? Is she the governor of Imo state? |

You quite right, there is poverty everywhere, not just in Yoruba region. The problem is result of our present crop of leaders, who are only interest in serving them unlike in awos day. Mind you even awo is corrupt, not man that Had/have walked earth can claimed otherwise. However, Awo putted the greater good of the society above his personal interest which is what is greatly lacking this day! South-west has the potential to be whatever it aspires to be; if and if only our leaders will emulate awos in the rearl sense of serving the communities on which the governed! masseratti: |

vicadex07: I think it's more of a question of proportion or percentage of houses in Ibadan which are modern compared to the total number of houses. Ibadan is the largest city in Africa considering it's expanse of land. It's unarguable. The percentage of old houses however is disturbingly high. It's like saying that Nigeria has more millionaires than South Africa, for example or that Nigeria has a higher GDP that SA, yet it doesn't translate to better standard of living because of our larger population. That is how it is comparing the number of modern houses in Ibadan with any other city in Nigeria, just like you can't compare Ibadan's population with that of any other city. |

Awoofawo:I beg to differ in the fact that Awo served under a colonial government will dare to be corrupt, that a man bought into coca cola shares, thats good investment, I might not know the details of him being corrupt. On the development of the Yoruba city, I think we are not aware of our surroundings,we are too obnoxious to see what is going on,everyone in this country is taking us for a ride, the Igbos in the early 80s championed the act of importation, most of the customs officers then we're Hausa/fulanis,the Yorubas has the manufacturing sector, Igbos brought in goods being manufactured by Yorubas, good that were contrabands, the Hausaa/Fulanis cared less about it allowed it to come in and Yorubas industries went comatose. I will give you an example a recent one, under OBJ we saw many furniture manufacturing companies springing up here and there, Gej came in lift the ban on furniture items, now most of our Yoruba furniture makers, small scale, artisans and large scale have nothing to do,the Igbo importers became richer so why won't they build better houses in their side, why won't they be richer? Yoruba e je a ronu, solution is the key not fighting them. 1 Like |
