might I woo thee?
thou queen of queens, high
thou maid of maidens

how thou stareth fierce
amidst stars across the sky
'cross oceans of beauty

laced, with rainbows, high
displaying beauty in color
might I woo thee?.

Might I woo thee? (allnaijablogger version)

For thee, I blaspheme
because thou art a goddess
a rare beauty across the universe
a being divine and supreme

Thy image is immaculate
purity in all its brightness
an angelic essence
In awe, I witness...........

*rubs palms.... Okay, leggo

Why do beads of heavenly glint twist, twirl and swirl
Around thy waist of charm as do cow bells?

Why does thy lil' face still blushes a'red when
Mocking early morning rays, the path it treads?

Is not in the smooth of thy skin boundaries of charm set?
Is not in the grace of thy smile the way to doom end?

Why did the beat of thrill a space in you yearn?
Why did the seat of wit a place in you earn?

Ahhhh, cao, might I woo thee then -
When autumn our friend bades farewell
And the cold winter to ourselves is near?

Might I woo thee then? grin

Wooing Cao.....

My sci-fi princess
Queen of the multiverse
light of the galaxy
I bow before thy geekiness

Thy essence is a temporal paradox
A beauty that grows younger
serene like an equinox
where the days and nights matter no longer

cheesy

Would have composed more and better, was in a hurry!! grin grin

Might I woo thee?

thou art a beauty queen, tender and comely
gracious, sweeter than honey
the stars and stellar adore ye
'cause you're intelligent, clever and lovely
and the only thing better than money
ignore these lamest rookies
'cause their ways are crooked
Llaykorn is chaste and lucid
and Joseph loves n.aked women
they only want to taste yo boobies
but for thee, I'd waste a million
or at worst, take a bullet
'cause for true love my aim is driven
with thee, I plan to make my children

Abeg, I don taya jo!

For fear of derailers, I'd prefer popping the thread on that very day. Hope he's aware and has accepted the date?

Heheh. You said something about writing in pidgin English. I remember one of the members of the NPC WhatsApp group did that once, and it was really awesome, but their name has since eluded me. I think it was firestar or Oahray. Since then, I had been thinking of doing one myself, but I think I need more guts. grin

Besides, I thought that the genre of a poem written in that language should be humor, and humorous pieces are pieces I really suck at writing.

PS: There was a class on the poetry group where Firestar was teaching us about haikus, and she did some pidgin. I remember doing some few 'wack' ones myself too. grin
