The fight against insurgency in the North East is receiving popular support as Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) recently donated some Hilux vans to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Maiduguri. Receiving the donation, Nigeria’s Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin expressed profound gratitude to the management and staff of TNL describing the company’s gesture as a show of public support and approval for MNJTF actions.

In his own remarks, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lt-General Buratai stated that the vehicles will be used to most effectively to achieve the three mandate of MNJTF which include, defeat of the Boko Haram terror group in all the area they occupied.

This should form one of the major thrusts of the CSRs of those multinational companies operating in our shores and their various franchises. Their is no gainsaying their survival and buoyancy depends, in part, on the security of the environment in which they operate.

B4 nkor? Do you know how much those Toyota guys are making from Naija? A ministers use Land cruiser jeep, all DGs use Prado jeep, FG directors all use corolla plus uncountable heluxes scarterred everywhere by Nigeria government (both state and federal).

These are true investors interested in the REAL sector of the economy, not some Capital Market speculators.

Five is pretty small compare to what they gain from Nigeria. Kudos to them. Other automobiles should follow suit.

Toyota trucks are okay substitutes for APCs. Those trucks are quite spirited. Some of them will even keep going after the engine's been hit. The older versions' (90's) are stronger though. But truth be told, we need APCs; not Hilux trucks.
