No. It would be grossly unjust to torment a man forever for the limited number of sins that he can commit in a lifetime.

Who knows the truth about what happens after we die? Only God can reveal this information, and he has done so in his written Word, the Bible, referred to above. Here is what the Bible says: “As the [beast] dies, so the [man] dies; and they all have but one spirit . . . All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust.” (Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20) There is no mention here of a fiery hell. Humans return to dust—to nonexistence—when they die.

In order to be tormented, an individual has to be conscious. Are the dead conscious? No. “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) It is impossible for the dead, “conscious of nothing at all,” to experience the agonies of hellfire.

A Harmful Doctrine

Well, is the crime rate in regions where people believe in hellfire lower than in other places? Hardly! In fact, the doctrine of hellfire is very harmful. Psalms 37:11,29.... d vast majority of righteous individuals would stay here on a cleansed, perfect earth.... we'd have that perfect IQ to pursue science so deeply, we'd not need money, technology would be at an all time high, cars, many things in that line would be produced, far sophisticated than we can ever imagine... no sickness or suffering to hinder one's enjoyment... wonderful family ties... human-animal relationship would be restored... food would be in abundance, and in variety .... loved ones who had died would be back, never to part again.... adventure trips would so make sense... we'd get to meet those guys we read of in the bible, moses, Abraham, David, Daniel, Job.... we'd get to talk to them and ask them questions.... gosh, eternal life would so make sense

For God to judge and demonstrate that Satan failed, He created man and gave man free will, then Satan cunningly deceived man into disobedience too to show that God's purpose failed! And because the price for disobedience is death, man was automatically condemned too; but because God loves man and His purpose for creating man was so he(man) could pass the test of obedience and judge Satan, he brought in His son in human form to rescue the situation. Jesus Christ passed the test of obedience (Jesus' temptation by Satan) and as a man without sin also died the death of a sinner so that whosoever believe in Him would receive eternal life.

So, any man who doesn't believe that Jesus Christ paid for his sin would be condemned....but he who believes would be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ (To be established in righteousness) giving him power to become an adopted child of God.
