MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MINERAL EXPLORATION AND GROUNDWATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT
University of Ghana Legon

DURATION: 2 years modular programme

Early June to mid August each year beginning from June 2009

TARGET CANDIDATES:
(1) It is aimed at geoscientists who are already working and wish to enhance their skills.
(2) Fresh graduate of the geosciences who want to gain a broad and applied technical background that
prepares them for a career in either mineral exploration or groundwater resource development.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
A BSc degree in the earth sciences, Geological or mining,Engineering and other relevent areas from a
recognized university with at least a second class lower ddivision.

MODULE CONTENTS:
(1) Mineral Exploration Option
Mineral Evaluation techniques
Mineral exploration techniques
(2) Groundwater Resource
Groundwater Exploration
Groundwater Evaluation and chmistry

FEES:
A fulltime student shall pay GHc 2560.00 for the entire programme duration or
GHc 1280.00 per module.
Part- time student shall pay GHc 400mper course.
Persons not interested in the MSc programme may take any of the courses for GHc 500 per course.
Such participant upon successfull completion will recieve a certificate of participation.

you can get one at the department of Geology upon the payment of
GHc 70 at the cash office. Completed appliacation forms should be accompanied with
evidence of payment of an application fee at the cash office.
