Re: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by mrsmbaso(f): 11:30am On Jun 21, 2009
does it really say bastard??
Re: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by messiah(m): 1:39pm On Jun 21, 2009
dan iska or dan banza are used interchangeably to mean bastard. even a small boy that speaks Hausa knows that.
however, friends use it informally to tease one another. i guess it depends on how serious or playfully a person says it.

Presido1, what's "mpio"? Because, I've always known "window" as "mpio", the actual "opening".

Let's make up a new Igbo word for Highway. I suggest Uzorukwu or Uzukwu. I didn't even notice that it could translate directly to 'highway' in English.

Then our High ways can have names like U15 or something, or maybe when we create an alphabet or our own symbols we can have Ω15  grin, Actually that sign looks like a manilla, so it could be used as a currency symbol!
