I've got this desktop hardisk ....tho its partitioned but I'm tryna use it as back up hdrve so I've set the jumper to all settings on the hdrve but still it wont show in the PC set-up ....infact each time i turn on the Pc it keeps making one schwi schwi sound
But if i remove the hrdve the pc would work normal without any noise....

are you sure you set it as SLAVE?
you cant have two masters on the same ide cable. the major disk should be master while your back up should be slave try it and see

Well the hrdsk is dead tho.....I've thrown it away
