First and firemost I want to advise everybody to try to download and listen to;

It is a very powerful message. The message had and still has a strong impact in my life and i believe it will bless you too and give you a better understanding of these mountains.

While surfing the net last night, I came accross a similar message by Pastor Tom Brown and i felt it right to share with you.

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "'I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him " (Mark 11:22-23).

In scriptures nations and empires are sometimes called "mountains". (see Dan 2:44-45).
Alternatively, Moses received God's Law at a mountain. Jesus brought the New Covenant at the cross set on a hill.
In the New Testament the church is called a mountain.
"But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven " (Heb 12:22-23).
John echoes the Hebrew writer:
"And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God" (Rev 21:10).

A mountain is a great, massive rock of either divine revelation or satanic revelation. On the good side is the church, which is the rock, a mountain of divine revelation. On the opposite side is the world, which is a rock, a mountain of satanic revelation.

What Jesus is saying about moving mountains is that we must have faith in God that we can affect great changes in the world—that is we can move the mountain of satanic revelation, and replace it with divine revelation.
Too often the church does not realize that it needs to move mountains before they will be successful in their outreach to the lost. Christians often get frustrated in evangelism.
They do not understand why certain people are hard to reach and others are easier. It has to do with the mountains in their culture.


In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission(YWAM), developed a God-given, world-changing strategy.
Their mandate: Bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres, or mountains, or facets of societal influence.
They concluded that in order to truly transform any nation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, these seven facets of society must be reached.
The Reformation Prayer Network’s primary goal is to be a catalyst, through prayer and righteous activism, which will bring change to these areas of societal influence.

What then are the seven mountains?
The 7 mountains are 7 sectors in society that mold the way we think, that is our culture is shaped by these spheres or mountains. Society is changed/transformed through all 7 mountains.


Economy/Buisness

Government

Family

Spirituality/Religion

Education

Media

Arts/Entertainment.


These seven mountains affect the culture of the people influenced by these institutions. To make real progress with the gospel, we must change those institutions so they reflect divine revelation. Some argue that trying to change these institutions is trying to fight with "flesh and blood" (see Eph 6:12).
However, we are not talking about people, but spirits behind these institutions. For us, Kings and Presidents are not our enemies; only spirits working to influence them are our enemies. I am not against television and movie producers that make immoral films; but only against the unclean spirits guiding them. To cast out these spirits influencing these institutions will take prayer, preaching and Christians getting involved in these institutions to change them for the better.

As you can imagine, changing those institutions will be not easy; that's why they are called mountains. Mountains are large. They seem immovable. This is why Jesus used mountains as the analogy; because He wanted us to know that these institutions seem impossible to move, and they are, without God's power. Jesus knows our feelings of helplessness when it comes to making great cultural changes, so He encouraged us to "Have faith in God." Nothing will happen without us putting our confidence in God. He is the only One that can help us move those mountains.

The spiritual warfare
You might have noticed in your Bible, especially the Old Testament, that there are lots of stories of war. Stories of people being killed by the sword, another killed by a sling shot, and more cut in half and beheaded. At first, when I read those stories, I thought to myself, I can't wait to get to the New Testament where Jesus, the hippie peacemaking preacher, teaches on love. But no sooner did I reach the New Testament that I became shocked at Jesus words. They were not full of tolerance like I thought. In fact, Jesus said, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword " (Matt 10:34). The sword He is speaking about is the "sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God " (Eph 6:17).

Then the gospels give a narrative of Jesus using the sword by debating and arguing with religious leaders. They call Him names. Jesus fights back and calls them "vipers, dead tombs." This was not the image I had of Christ. The gospels shocked me and made me realize that Jesus life and ministry were filled with antagonists. Then of course, His life ends violently. He is crucified by both the encouragement of the religious leaders and the legal authority of the government. Jesus life was not the life of a hippy just trying to get a long with everyone. He never tried to get along with people. He spoke the truth, even when people hated Him for it.

1. Mountain of Religion

Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?"

"Caesar's," they replied.

Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." (Matt 22:15-21)

            This religious debate was a normal occurrence with Jesus. He often argued with religious leaders about the Sabbath, fasting, divorce and even about being born again. The more you read the gospels, the more you come away with the fact that Jesus was building the true religion. He said, "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Matt 16:18-19).

            You would think that building the church would be a nice, peaceful venture. Not so. Jesus said, "And the gates of Hades will not overcome it." This means the devil will attack the church. He will try to infiltrate it with false teachings. If the church, which is the "pillar and foundation the truth" (1 Tim 3:15) loses its main function, which is telling the truth, then the church becomes irrelevant and ultimately is taken over by Satan. This has already happened with many mainline denominations. They wanted to succor the favor of the world, so they changed its teaching to adapt to the philosophies and morals of the world. We cannot conform to the world, we must transform the world by speaking the truth. This means we will have debates constantly with those trying to get us to change the teachings of scriptures. But we must hold fast to the truth.

            The term "church" was used in Jesus times to speak of the "governmental assembly of the city where laws were made." This is why He said, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." This does not mean we have the authority to change the truth. In fact, the literal Greek text as shown in the Amplified Bible clearly shows that we must only declare lawful what God has already declared lawful, "Whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven" (Matt 16:19, AMP). As you can see, heaven will only affirm your words if they conform to the truth spoken by God in heaven.

            Basically Jesus is saying, "As goes the church, so goes the world." We are the pillar and foundation of the truth, and we are the salt and light of the world (see Matt 5:13-15). In old times salt was used as a preservative. Salt preserves meat so it does not become rotten. Jesus is saying that the world will become rotten if you do not act like salt by speaking the truth to the world. Also the world is in darkness and we bring them to the light by speaking and living the truth. Without the church, there is no hope.

            The church is the largest mountain of cultural change. Unfortunately we see the devil tempting the church leaders into sin and by leading the leaders into false teaching. Today, some churches are ordaining as bishops active homosexuals. Others question whether Jesus is really the only way to God. They have conformed to the world.

            Taking the stand for these truths may be unpopular to some people, it may even sound hateful to others, and definitely it will sound judgmental to many, but we must not waver in speaking the truth in love.

The foundation of society is the family. Before there were businesses or governments there was marriage, and couples having children. God established the family before he established commerce and governmental laws.

2. The Mountain of the Family

            In the book of Genesis is told the story of the first man and woman. It's common knowledge that the human race started with a man and a woman. The Bible says that God made a woman from the rib of Adam and brought her to him, "The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Gen 2:23-24). Since families come before business or government, neither business nor government has power over it.  This conflict of governmental laws and marriage is nothing new. One of the most important debates Jesus had with leaders had to do with the tension between law and marriage. "Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, 'Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?'" (Matt 19:3). Notice, they were not asking if it is morally right to divorce their wives for any and every reason. They were asking if it is "lawful" to do this. They were dealing with law, not with simple morality.

            The way Jesus answers it is by reminding them and us that marriage does not have its foundation or origin in law, but with God alone. He reminds them of the first marriage that God, alone, without judges, performed:

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'  and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." (Matt 19:4-6)

            So Jesus takes marriage laws and removes them from marriage and reminds us that "laws" or what is "lawful" is not the real issue. The issue is what is "right", not what is lawful. In most countries people are free to divorce their spouses for reasons other than "marital unfaithfulness." Even though they are lawfully divorced this does not make them "morally" divorced. They still have vows they made before God, and no government can release people from the vows they made before God.

            The Pharisees understood the ramification of Jesus teaching. He was turning laws upside down. He was basically discarding them in favor of divine law. So naturally the Pharisees wanted to debate Jesus on this by appealing to Moses, and in essence, saying that Moses was close to God and God gave laws to him, including laws about divorce: "'Why then,' they asked, 'did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?' Jesus replied, 'Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning' (Matt 19:7-.

            Jesus concedes the point that Moses indeed gave laws for divorce. But that his laws were not "commands" from God, but "permission" by Moses. You see, Moses was both the spiritual leader of Israel as well as the governmental leader of Israel. The people put pressure on Moses as the governmental leader. They forced his hand on changing the original plan of God. They made him give them the rights to divorce. Jesus made that point clear: "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard."

            Jesus however counters Moses permission to divorce with God's original plan: "But it was not this way from the beginning." In summary: Government cannot redefine marriage and its covenantal meaning. It can only cave in to pressure from society. This is what is happening with government and marriage. Today, the more hard-hearted people become, the more they will force legislators to give them what they want concerning marriage and divorce. Not only has society begged for "no fault" and easy divorce, but now they want government to change the definition of marriage. Some segments in society--namely gay activists, Hollywood, liberal theologians--do not even understand the basic fundamental definition of marriage to be the joining of one man and one woman together. They now are clamoring to make marriage between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. They want same-sex marriages.

            How would Jesus answer this? The same way He answered about easy divorce: "But it was not this way from the beginning." As Christians we have an obligation to teach the truth. We must continue to preach what Jesus taught. He taught that marriage is a covenant between a man and woman, and in a covenant you stay together unless one breaks the covenant. And Jesus says that "marital unfaithfulness" or another way to put it, sexual immorality, is the breaking of the unique covenantal bonds between a husband and wife. "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery" (Matt 19:9).

            Also in Jesus teaching, He does not allow any marriage between people of the same sex. Anything outside of a man and a woman does not constitute marriage. Now government can make laws allowing two men to get married, but they are not married in God's sight. God has nothing to do with that relationship, because it is outside of what He founded in the beginning. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. So there is no point in trying to change the fundamental definition of marriage.

            I understand the gay-right's activists. They are quite clever and politically savvy. We Christians however must confront this mountain against the family. If we do not, then same-sex marriage will become accepted, children will be forced to be adopted by gay couples, and eventually it will be considered a hate-crime to speak against such unions, even though the Bible teaches against homosexuality. The government will then force churches to allow gay-couples to get married in their church building with threat of losing their tax except status. Then they will make the clergy marry gay couples. Make no mistake about it; government is like a beast; without them being tamed, they will try to devour the people of God. This is why we must take a strong stand against same-sex unions.

            You may feel that the gay activists are winning. The mountain seems to grow larger day by day. It is because the Church, by and  large, have not confronted this mountain. Many pastors, priests and bishops do not want to seem unloving by speaking out against this mountain. So the mountain grows. Pastors then become even more afraid as society becomes acceptant of gay marriage. Pastors don't want to lose their congregation, so they refuse to fight the good fight of faith by trying to move the mountain.

            As leaders we are called by God to speak the truth. Yes, we must do it in love, but we MUST DO IT. If you are a pastor, priest, bishop or rabbi, and you do not speak against same-sex unions, then let me tell you what you are: you are a coward! You are afraid of what people might say about you instead of what God thinks of you. We must have fear of God, and Him alone. Tell the truth about marriage. Speak it in love. But speak against the mountain of easy divorce and of same-sex unions. Stand up for the family. Now, more than ever, is the time.

The families of today have been under constant and prolonged attack. Today, the assailants are fatherlessness, divorce (50% rate in secular and Christian marriages), abuse, homosexual marriage, pornography, and other negative influences have brought great dysfunction to the human life. God is calling fathers and mothers (both spiritual and biological) to bring order to the chaos that the enemy has unleashed against families in America. He also wants to bring healing to marriages and relationships within families in order to maintain a moral foundation for children in the future to stand upon.

3. Mountain of Business

            "Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil" (Gen 4:2). Business was set up. Abel exchanged the products of his flocks--milk, cheese and clothing--for Cain's fruit and vegetables. Thus was born the beginning of business.

            Work is a blessing. It is not a curse. The curse was fruitless and frustrating work. "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field" (Gen 3:17-18). Some people misread the curse as being "work." But work is not a curse, it is a blessing. God gave Adam a job. He told him to work in the Garden. "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it" (Gen 2:15).

            So work is a blessing given by God. In fact it could be argued that work came before marriage. Adam worked first, then God caused him to fall into a deep sleep, and then God took the rib and made a woman. This teaches us that work provides the means to make a family. A family without a job is frustrated. They can't live together in happiness and peace when they have no means to take care of themselves.

            Business's main role is provide us with economic opportunity. It is wrong for us to demand government to do this. You cannot tell government to take care your needs. Unfortunately politicians are too afraid to tell you the truth, so politicians act like CEOs and promise jobs. Then they become frustrated because they can't produce the jobs. However, businesses create jobs, not government. 

            In the beginning there were only two businesses: Abelton and Cainonton. They were privately owned. Abel owned his company and Cain owned his. It was simple at the time. But even then, Cain killed Abel. But since there was no government, God banished Cain into the desert. Later, however, as more and more people populated the earth, more and more businesses were created. The growth created the need for government. Government came together as a result of business and people needing law and order. So Government's calling is to keep law and order. Government is not the producers of wealth. It is their job to insure that businesses are allowed to produce products and make money from it without others stealing from them.

            So it is the Churches duty to tell the truth about the rewards of hard work. The Church must encourage hard work. It must tell those that refuse to work that they are sinning.  "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: 'If a man will not work, he shall not eat.' We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat" (2 Thess 3:10-11).

            On the other hand, we must also remind businesses that with their wealth they must give back to God. Cain and Abel were doing fine until Cain refuse to give back to God what he owed to Him. Businesses, as well as owners of businesses, must tithe to God. They owe their prosperity to God; thus they must give to God the best from their businesses. Businesses have failed when they make money but do not give back to God.

            The Church must tell the truth to businesses that they must pay their employees what is fair. They must not rob people of their hard work. They must not take advantage of employees.

"Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty" (James 5:1-4).

            Businesses must also not use their power to destroy other businesses. They must not use unfair business practices to hurt other businesses. Competition must be fair.  Those with more money should not be allowed to use their vast wealth to crush smaller businesses. Crushing smaller businesses is not competition; it is war. But sometimes big-businesses wants government to treat them more favorably than smaller businesses. They use their wealth to buy politicians, so politicians create an unfavorable environment for smaller businesses. Government, in the pockets of big-businesses, create expensive rules for businesses that smaller businesses cannot afford to follow; so smaller businesses are driven out of business, so big-business is the only one left standing. This is wrong.

            Business also has an obligation to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. There are those that are too weak, either in body or mind, to take care of themselves. Businesses must give to them. They can do it by giving jobs to those that are too weak to make money for business, but they do it for conscience sake. I believe that business should hire those that are handicap. Yes, it costs businesses to do this, but it is the right thing to do. It is called "alms giving." They should give to the poor that are too weak or old to work.

            So charity is biblical. And charity begins with those that make money. And those that make money should be helping the helpless. Businesses can give directly to the needy or they can partner with Churches to do this. Since the Church is not a business it alone cannot help the needy. That is the job of business. The Church however can partner with businesses to help the needy. And this is good.

            In the next teaching we are going to show the positive role of government and how God set it up to be a big blessing to us. It is not a necessary evil; government is a blessing and gift from God.

5. Mountain of Government

            Government is the system by which the state laws and policy are enforced. Plus it includes the manner in which those laws and policies will be enacted. Government gets a bad rap. Sometimes deservingly so; other times not. Government is good when it does what God intended government to do, and that is to punish the evil doers and commend the good people.

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer." (Rom 13:1-4)

            First truth about government is that "God has established" it. It is God ordained. We need government for protection against bad people. If everyone was good, there would be no need for government. "We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers" (1 Tim 1:9). Righteous people do not fear the law, because they not only obey the law, but they go beyond just the requirements of the law and do good.

History of Bad Government

            The Bible gives us plenty of examples of government forgetting its duty to protect the innocent. Government, whether in the forms of Kings, Governors and Judges, have often imprisoned good people. Joseph, though innocent, was thrown into prison. Prophets who spoke the truth to Kings were often tortured, imprisoned and killed by the Kings that did not like what the prophets said. Jesus, Himself, was arrested and crucified under Pontius Pilate, who was procurator for the Roman government. Later Nero, the head of the state, arrested Christians, confiscated their property, imprisoned some of its leaders, and put to death those he feared the most.

            Can we say then that government that acts like this is God's instrument? No. It's the same as a minster who abuses his position and uses his power to hurt others. He is no more a minister than a governmental official is.

            And in many places we see those in governmental power using their position to silence dissenting voices. They care more about whether they stay in power than whether they use their position to help those under them. Governmental leaders can be a big blessing if they remember why God put them in power. But when they care about staying in power more than helping others, they can be an instrument of Satan.

            For example, in my city of El Paso the mayor overturned the election he did not like. Then when, we the people, successfully petitioned to call for a recall, the mayor used the legal system and spent a quarter of a million dollars to erase the signatures of the petitioners. He needed of course the help of judges to accomplish this, but he did it. You see, he cares more about staying in power then in serving the people. Now, the District Attorney, is considering indicting me and others for being involved in the recall. Right here in the good ol' USA there might be pastors and good Christians arrested because they wanted to hold the mayor accountable for throwing out their votes. It's very clear to me that in El Paso there is a lot of political corruption. People are using their office to line their pockets with money, abusing the people, scaring them of their free speech, and possibly arresting those who are political opponents of the them.

             This abuse of power is nothing new. It is part of the history of government. The abuse of government has given government a bad name. It has discouraged people from trusting in government. It has even discouraged good people from being involved in government, but what we need is good people to get more involved in government. The only way to change government is by good people leading it. This is why God is calling many believers to be civically minded. We can't abandoned the institution that "God has established."

Limits of Government

            During the time before kings were established in Israel, the prophets and judges ruled the Holy Land. But a time came when the people wanted a change in the system of government. "But when they said, 'Give us a king to lead us,' this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: 'Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king" (1 Sam 8:6-7).

            God did not tell Samuel to reject the voices of the people. Even though the people were wrong, God told Samuel to consent to the will of the people. He told them to give them what they wanted.

            The important lesson for governmental leaders is this: you cannot force your views on the majority. You have to recognize your own limitations. Now, Samuel tried to convince them that bringing in a monarchy was going to be harmful to the people, but he could not convince them. So he gave them a king.

            The same happened with Moses. Moses knew that marriage was a lifetime covenant. Unless a spouse breaks that covenant, divorce was not God's will. However, the people did not want laws forcing them to stay married. They clamored for their rights to divorce their wives for any and every reason. The Pharisees used Moses' laws for divorced to try to prove that divorce for any and every reason was proper. They did not like Jesus teaching that marriage is for a lifetime. So they argued: "'Why then,' they asked, 'did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?' Jesus replied, 'Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning" (Matt 19:7-.

           Moses was a good leader. Yet, Moses knew of his limitations. He could not make laws that the people did not want. Governmental leaders must understand this principle as well.

Taxes

            The thing that most people care about concerning government is taxes. Paul continues in Romans chapter 13, "This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing (v 6).  Taxes are not a necessary evil; it is payment that we the citizens make to have government. The error of government is when they collect taxes, not to run the government, but to take it from others and give it to private citizens. They may do it for the right motives—but rarely can government afford to do this. Ultimately government will go bankrupt if it views itself as a charity. Charity is the job of the people; not of the government.

            This is not the same as government collecting taxes for the public good. Whether it is public transportation, public education, public libraries, public health care or anything that government thinks is in the welfare of the whole public. So long as everyone can benefit from the taxes collected, then there is nothing wrong with government programs and projects to help all the people. But government should not collect taxes and use the money for just "some" of the people.

            There are also limitations on what the people are willing to pay in taxes. King Rehoboam made a terrible mistake in raising the taxes and burdens on the people (see 1 King 12:1-17). As a result he lost his influence with the people, and his rule was a failure. Governmental officials have to be sensitive to how the people feel about taxation. They must not burden the people too much. It is wiser for the government to be frugal than to overtax. Unless the government can show the advantages of the taxes, then government will fail the people. People will ultimately revolt against any government over reaching and picking the pockets of the tax payers.

God's People

            God is raising up His people to become more involved in government. God's people must become civic-minded. It is their duty to be involved in government—through voting, educating oneself, and running for office or supporting selfless candidates that are willing to sacrifice themselves to serve the people. We cannot abdicate our role in reclaiming government for God and the people.

5. Mountain of Media

            The media's job is to tell the truth. It's not as easy as you think.

            Let' face the fact that the media often has an anti-Christian bias. Here is a case in point. I just watched Kirk Cameron this morning on "The Today Show." The interviewer questioned whether it was right for him to talk about his religious views in public, including homosexuality. This shows the bias of the media because they would not be asking the same question to someone who is for homosexuality and gay marriage. They assume anyone who thinks homosexuality is sinful must be a bigot or a hate-monger.  
      

            Let me give you a personal example here in my town of El Paso. My ministry made headline news for being listed as a "hate group." It was not listed because we hate anyone, but because I believe homosexuality is a sin, and I shared my views as to what I think are some of the causes of same sex attraction. However, most reporters gave the benefit of the doubt, not to me, but to The Southern Poverty Law Center. Eventually it later came out that this group labeled us a "hate group" because one person unilaterally decided to do it. Yet, this made headline news. One person moved the media to put out this story, not because anything was truthful, but because it was negative. Bias news reporting looks for negative stories on godly people.

            However, few news agencies in El Paso wanted to cover the important story about how hundreds of Christians are afraid of being jailed for participating in the democratic process.1 This is why we need godly news reporters to counter the anti-Christian bias.

            Fortunately there are some good reporters that are willing to tell the truth, even if the political party in power looks bad. But those reporters are rare.

            I do believe God is raising up courageous reporters—maybe you—that are willing to risk their careers to tell the truth and to report on the positive benefits of spiritual faith. There is more to reporting than digging through corruption; it is also doing positive stories about good things ordinary citizens are doing. In the end, these ordinary citizens are often people of deep religious faith, but sometimes the heart of their faith is not mentioned. To mention their faith is considered too offensive to others. Reporters should be telling the story of people's faith and how it makes them better people.

            Let's face the real facts: people who go to church regularly and live by their faith are better people and produce better children than those who don't. Want proof? Governments like Cuba that are atheistic have a high rate of abortions and astronomical divorce rates which should tell you what atheism produces; yet atheists are wanting to make our country a secular nation, and the media seems to go along with this philosophy.

            The media has an obligation to side with "truth" and there is nothing more "truthful" than Jesus Christ, who claimed to be "the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6).

            That's why spiritual conversion is so important for every person, including reporters. When Christ lives in someone, that person will be guided by the Holy Spirit and when the Holy Spirit comes "he will guide you into all truth" (John 16:13). Not just "some" truth, but "all" truth. It is truth that reporters claim to seek. But without the Holy Spirit, reporters are often led astray and end up bringing forth stories that are untrue or needlessly negative.

            As a born again, Spirit-filled believer you have what it takes to be a reporter. You have the One living in you to guide you to the truth. We need more of these types of reporters in the media.

6. Mountain of Arts and Entertainment


In this mountain we find some of the most influential forces shaping our society. Music, filmmaking, television, social media, and the performing arts drive the cultural tastes, values and standards of a nation’s citizens, particularly its youth.

With a heavy reliance on the strong appeal of sex, drugs and alcohol, the arts and entertainment industries wield significant influence. The body of Christ needs powerful, righteous men and women who are not afraid to take their God-given talent into the arts and entertainment arenas. People ready to further His purposes, while impacting those who are lost in darkness and would not otherwise be interested in any kind of Christian message in traditional forms.

            Hollywood has played a huge role in shaping our culture. For good reason, people need leisure, and so they look to the silver screen and television to entertain them. In the past, Hollywood had ethics. They knew how influential they could become. They could shape culture. So they made sure that movies and shows did not harm society. Today, Hollywood has no scruples. They put out filth, trash, violence, porn, cussing—you name it—they put it out. And they do it because it "sells."

            However, greed should not be the motivating factor for those involved in arts and entertainment. There has to be some self-guiding, self-motivating factor more important than making money. It has to be lifting up the human soul and inspiring people to live better lives. Movies and TV shows can do this. Paintings and sculptures can do this.  Music, more than we realize, can lift or debase the human soul. Just because it sells is no reason to put it out. We have to look at our responsibilities to the world and mostly to God. Are we acting responsibly in making that movie? Are we right in producing that song? Are we liable for that painting?

            Today, people have lost their connection with God, and so they lost their conscience. God is raising up men and women of God who are willing to enter the dangerous field of arts and entertainment. Hopefully these Christ-like-minded believers will begin to change the way arts and media have been operating. Maybe they can show producers that they can make entertaining films, TV show, and documentaries and still make decent profits while still profiting society.

7. Mountain of Education

        Children are more impressionable than adults, and that is why atheists, secularists, and gay activists go after our children. If they can change their thinking about God and morality, then they can change the culture. They want to usurp the parenting role, and if you as a parent let them, then God help the next generation!

            Surveys have shown that people know less about the Bible, attend church less frequently, and view important moral issues in a different way than past generations. It is no wonder today's generation is increasing becoming more acceptant of abortion, gay lifestyles, sex outside of marriage, easy divorce, gambling, doctor assisted suicide and a host of other important issues that affect our culture. And their views are becoming less aligned with the Bible. The reason is simple: children are suppose to be taught moral truths that are the underpinning of a stable society, yet in today's schools, including those in higher education, the schools are undermining biblical and moral teaching.

            To counter this, God is raising up people to enter the teaching profession. These godly teachers recognize that teaching is a calling from God. You don't have to teach at a pulpit in church to make a difference. You can teach in front of a black board in school and make a huge difference. We need teachers to exemplify godly and moral principles.

             It's not just teachers that God is raising up, but he is raising up administrators, because in the end, the administrators often determine the curriculum. Be open to how God may lead you in education. Don't be moved by the little pay that is often the norm. Feel the call. Let God use you in the education of children, teens and adults.

Move the Mountains

            You have been challenged to move the mountains that stand in the way of God's kingdom. It's time to get involved in these seven mountains. You may not be called equally to all seven mountains, but I think you can involve yourself in some way in all the seven mountains. However, certain mountains will beacon you to move them. Get involved in changing our society for the good. You can make a difference. You can move the seven mountains of cultural change.

  God has designed each person individually, with a unique mix of abilities, strengths, desires. God has an assignment for each person. Some peoples’ vocation (calling) is to work in the religious field. Most vocations are in other areas. We all are in on a mission [assignment], some are called to foreign lands, most are called to their local areas, and most are called to the jungles of the marketplace.

God has given you the desire, the interest to become an accountant, plumber, pastor, mother, cleaner, secretary, etc…… all are full-time Christian workers.

God never made a distinction between sacred and secular. In fact, the Hebrew word avodah is the root word having the same meaning of “work” and “worship.” God sees our work as worship.
We have incorrectly elevated the role of the Christian vocational worker to be more holy and committed than the person who is serving outside in a more secular environment. Yet, the call to the secular marketplace is as important as any other calling. God has to have His people in every sphere of life. Otherwise, many would never come to know Him.

Let him demonstrate His power through your life so that others might experience Him through you today and see your vocation as worship to His glory.

God values our work even when the product has no eternal value. Christians often measure the significance of a job by its perceived value from the eternal perspective.
Will the work last; will it “really count” for eternity?

The implication is that God approves of work for eternity, but places little value on work for the here and now. By this measure, the work of ministers and missionaries has eternal value because it deals with people’s spiritual, eternal needs.

Based on the above thought, the work of a doctor, shop owner, salesman, technician or jockey has only limited value, because it meets only earthly needs. In other words, this kind of work doesn’t really “count” in God’s eyes.

However, thinking this way, is ignoring several important bible truths. God himself has created a world that is time bound and temporary, and He placed us in it to live. 2 Peter 3:10-11. God promises rewards to people in everyday jobs, based on their attitude and conduct. Ephesians 6:8; Colossians 3:23- 4:1

The Lord has called each of us to be excellent in what we do. Those whom God used in the Kingdom as marketplace ministers were skilled and exemplified excellence in their field. Not only were these men skilled, they were filled with God’s Spirit.

We are living in a time when there is a reformation taking place in the body of Christ, not of doctrine but of practice. God is moving among those in the workplace. You and I are part of this movement. As more and more men and women take their rightful place as workplace ministers with signs and wonders that accompany their life, we will begin to see pastors and church leaders understand this movement and begin to embrace it.

These marketplace minsters are leading by results, providing solutions, by the power of God, which will change the old paradigms. However, be sure of this, whenever there is a move of God, there is also opposition by Satan that comes from the religious leadership, just as it did in the early church movement. 95% of the body of Christ are not employed by the church in “full time ministry” so there must be a destiny for this 95%.
