OP wetin make you put yoruba and hausa together, doesn't make sense.

The people responsible for this calculation are probably afraid to put one above the other.
Because there is no way the both of them would have the exact same percentage population in reality.

Why did you join yoruba and hausa instead of hausa and fulani?

The Igbo population should be greater than 32 million. The 35 million figure for Hausas in Nigeria seems somewhat exaggerated. There has never been a proper or true census done in Nigeria that truly reflects the actual population of ethnic groups in the country.
what are you fighting for now?
that 3 million is to be added to your 32 million Igbo population to equal 35 million?
Stop taking things like as if Igbo's are deliberately being cheated!
I as a yoruba man see the stats of this thread as estimated figures. The day a true presidential election is contested BTW Hausa, Ibo & Yoruba candidates is the day you ll know who's more populated.

A country so rich culturally but gradually replacing all the beautiful cultural splendor with the slave master's culture

1. Parents will boldly teach their children English first before their mother tongue (My parents are guilty of this)

2. Personalizing or to extent of even sacrificing their own life to an alien religion ( Most people carry the religion for head pass the foreigners wey get am self)

3. Calling their own culture and believes idol worship, not knowing that western religion given to them is a Roman idol worship in disguise.

I can go on nd on..
without that slave master you cant be writing this shit here in Nairaland but would have been primitively living in one thick jungle with your ...! Since you left white man foreign religion to that your ancentral religion, has that change your frustrated life at all. Go to your village and town and see how frustrated the worshippers of your dear sango-amadioha-ogun is faring. You should try to write with that your local dialect/language since you are not happy with your parents for raising you in English. That English, you must have even gotten F9 and even never attempted to do that your local language. Mind you, there is nothing like western-foreign religion but purely middle eastern-far east non western religion in its real sense. The whites: europeans and americans got it from middle east non caucasoid race. I hate this bla bla talk on white man religion. Lets build naija. Happy independent.

OP put them together because it's hard to tell whether the Hausa or Yoruba are the most in Nigeria at the moment so they are possibly tied for first place.

The Kanuri are tall, with a stately, dignified look. This signifies their pride and appreciation for their past as rulers, as well as their present position of leadership and influence. Many Kanuri speak Hausa, Arabic, or another area language in addition to Kanuri.
grin
the pic here is not the pic of kanuri woman but that of shuwa arab living towards the lake chad area of boronu state. Kanuri's are very dark skin and mostly slim. Abacha is a kanuri man. They are actually the most uneducated tribe in Naija even worst than hausas and this has affected their development. Islam actually came through them before usman danfolio of sokoto. They have rich history and great empire which is no more. May be religion and culture stalled their development resulting to the present boko haram syndrom.

So if the hausas are 35m and the fulanis are 20m.
This makes the Hausa-fulani language 55m.
Also don't forget that parts of ilorin is fulani.

55m simply means they are approximately 33% of naijas population

I still honestly doubt the Igbos outnumber the Fulbe, don't even start with the Hausas. You always assault us because of our high rate of reproduction yet you refuse to accept how large our population is. You my friend are a joke. Classic case of overdosing on the haterade.
u mean the 10million almajiris, children without parents. It unacceptable to this our modern generation. We cannot continue living in the past, the past generation did what suited there time so we should do the same by coming in terms with reality. Over population or high population is nothing when is not measured or match by development or good living and revenue. So it better Nigeria have a population of 1 million people who are well behave and living good, than this 150 million(only knows how many we are) who live in hell and a society enjoy by few individuals. The rich diversity of our people has not be define and articulated well. The one Nigeria slogan is not back up by anything binding all so the conflict and clash of value, interest and direction is what is fundamentally wrong with us Nigeria. So play down on population and promote development and good living.

Wait, time out for a second, there is no such thing as Hausa Fulani language.

There is Hausa spoken by Hausas, Fulanis, Kanuris, and other minority groups (as a second language) in the North

There is Fulfulde spoken amongst the Fulani only (In Nigeria, in other countries, other ethnic groups speak Fulfulde/Pulaar as well, like Cameroon, Niger, Senegal, Guinea and Mali).
