Looks like Microsoft is throwing down the gauntlet for Xbox Live Games with Gold for September 2016. Usually the free game selection is a decent set of games, with some small titles mixed in to cover for the AAA games that can’t be offered. We’ve seen big months before though, where Microsoft pushes out AAA mega hits for free to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. September 2016 is another one of these months, with big franchises available for free across Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The Xbox Live Games with Gold free games for September 2016 are Earthlock: Festival of Magic and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China for Xbox One, and Forza Horizon and Mirror’s Edge for Xbox 360. Xbox One might still be stuck with smaller games, but the fact that the two Xbox 360 titles will be playable on XBO via backwards compatibility makes it pretty great

September is setting up to be a big month for Sony as they have already announced their PlayStation Meeting for September 7, where the PS4 Neo and PS4 slim are expected to be announced. However, that is not the only show they are having as they have announced yet another in the lead up to the Tokyo Game Show.
As announced through the official Japanese PlayStation bllog, Sony is holding a PlayStation Press Conference on Tuesday, September 13 at 4:00 pm local time.

First they introduced ps+ to the ps4 and now they want to increase,bringing out ps neo same time as the slim? While forge mode has been available in the Xbox One version of Halo 5 for a long time now, the mode is set to be getting a standalone release on PC soon. Microsoft has announced that the mode will be coming to the PC Microsoft Store on September 8th, which will be downloadable at no charge.
As for what the PC version will have, the mode will support 4K resolution and mouse-and-keyboard support, as well as allowing custom matches with up to 16 players. Any level that you’ve played on the Xbox One version of the game can also be downloaded and tinkered around/played with on the PC version.
This mode will go live on PC on September 8th, the same day that the ninth free content release for Halo 5 – Anvil’s Legacy – debuts.

Civilization VI Gets a Massive 25th Anniversary Edition

The first Titanfall 2 technical test didn’t go so well with a large contingent of the fanbase. Sure, a lot of people had a lot of fun with the game, and we’ve been impressed with it before as well. However, some players took issue with a lot of the design decisions and changes that were made between the first game and now. There were discussions on forums, Reddit, and other social media sites all about how the game played, and some felt it was a poor showing. Respawn Entertainment has seemed to take this feedback in stride though, and has already issued a huge list of changes, some of which will be coming to Titanfall 2’s second beta test this weekend.
Pilot mobility was the first item to be addressed, with Respawn explaining some of the changes they made between the first game and now. “Many players are wondering why we changed the mobility from Titanfall 1,” reads the post from Steven DeRose,
Multiplayer Game Designer on Titanfall 2. “We identified two major issues we wanted to solve in Titanfall 2. The first is that a lack of player predictability would often cause players to be shot from the back or sides. While flanking is an important part of gameplay death often felt random instead of skillful. The second issue is that close range firefights were overly chaotic due to erratic player movement. So, changes to pilot mobility stemmed from a desire to improve our gunplay, and not a desire to slow down movement.”
A big problem that the community was discussing at length was the new ways in which players earned a Titan. This was addressed as well, “We made some changes in Titanfall 2 with the goal of rewarding players for playing game mode objectives. However, we observed the problem that players can try to play the objective but fail, resulting in slower than intended Titan acquisition. We still want objectives to be the fastest way to get a Titan, but the goal of every player being guaranteed a Titan per match hasn’t changed.”

PSN Adds 2-Step Verification for Extra Security

Sony’s PlayStation Network hasn’t had the best track record
when it comes to security. A very high profile hack of PSN
occurred a few years ago, leading to a shift in policy, and a
whole lot of compensation going out to users. After that
incident Sony has placed an extra emphasis on PSN security,
with today marking another major step toward more players being more secure: 2-Step Verification.

“Passwords can be compromised if you use the same
password for multiple accounts, click on malicious links,
open phishing emails and other methods,” reads the
activation page. “If your password is compromised and
becomes known to someone other than yourself, your
account will still require a verification code to gain access
when you activate 2-Step Verification.”

If you’re a security conscious person then you likely are
already aware of 2-Step Verification, or 2-Factor Authentication as it is called by other services. Essentially,
the feature sets up a secondary password that has to be
entered upon login. What makes this so special though is
that the second password is always changing, and is sent to
you via text. Entering this second code along with your
password will get you in, but anyone who doesn’t have both
is locked out.

Digital Foundry once again did a test that compared Call of Duty 2 running on Xbox 360 compared it running on Xbox One, and the differences were definitely noticeable. The biggest difference is how much easier the game is able to maintain a solid 60fps on Xbox One compared to the Xbox 360 version. The Xbox 360 version regularly drops to 40fps during action-heavy moments, sometimes dropping as low as 30fps. This problem is greatly improved on the Xbox One version

The ESRB has rated Mafia 3 this week and as expected, the game has a lot of mature content that makes it inappropriate for children to play.
Mafia 3 has received the M rating for players over the age of 17. The content descriptors are: “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs”.
The rating summary is: This is an open-world action game in which players assume the role of a Vietnam veteran (Lincoln Clay) seeking revenge against an organized crime syndicate. As players explore 1968-era New Orleans, they complete missions that often involve taking over criminal rackets and assassinating targets. From a third-person perspective, players use pistols, machine guns, shotguns, explosives, and knives to kill enemy rivals and thugs; players can directly kill civilians and police though this may negatively affect their progress.
Combat is highlighted by realistic gunfire and large blood- splatter effects. Players can also use stealth attacks to strangle and/or stab enemies from behind. In some sequences, players engage in intense hand-to-hand combat, performing various takedowns and executions: stomping enemies’ heads; snapping their necks; shooting enemies in the mouth or head at close range.
One sequence depicts characters cutting the limbs off corpses inside a warehouse. The game contains depictions of nudity and sexual material: topless women dancing and caressing each other during a pornography shoot; a sex- party setting in which a woman performs MouthAction on a man (no Instruments depicted); a male couple having sex in a bathhouse (no Instruments or penetration depicted); unlockable
Playboy magazine centerfolds/covers depicting exposed buttocks and breasts. The game also includes references to drugs and drug use: a man snorting lines of drugs; missions that involve spiking liquids with LSD; depictions of a heroin- processing operation. I doubt new AAA titles will come to PSNow on release dates..I think we'll be dealing with much older games..but we'll have tto wait and see. I'm not going to loose sleep over it, if it happens it happens. It still requires a subcriptionn which I'm not keen on paying tbh.
