Jos is a quiet city in Plateau State. In Nigeria’s infancy, it was an important tin mining location when the colonial masters were still ruling the country. The natives refer to Jos as ‘J-Town.’ If you live in another part of the country and you come to Jos, you will find the temperate weather strange. When it comes to tourism, anyone would love this city because it’s vibrant with loads of activities.

Urbanization meets with tourism in this city – one of the reasons thousands of people are drawn to it. You can find the West African Klispringer, Jos Plateau indigo bird, the rock firefinch, Nigerian mole rat, Fox’s shaggy rat, and other animals.

The Jos Museum

Jos Museum is one of the city’s favourite places. It houses several archeological artifacts, historical relics, and many other things that you would appreciate. There is a wooden stream close to this museum, and you would find this museum was built under the foot of a tree. You would also find the museum acts as a centre to preserve the Nok culture.

Jos Zoo

Kids would love it here where they can see several wildlife animals, including lions. This is one place you can find crowds of visitors, especially during the festive periods. The zoo is very close to the Jos Museum and the Museum of Traditional Nigerian Architecture. Besides the zoo, there’s also the Jos Wildlife Park – a lovely picnic spot. Here, you will find a lot of animals and birds.

The Kurra Falls

Surrounded by lakes, Jos has its own waterfall called the Kurra Falls. These lakes came into existence from the tin mining activities so many years ago before the government stopped it. This is the where the Nigerian Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) generates electricity.

Classic Hotels

You would love the numerous hotels scattered around Jos. These hotels have become home to visitors who are looking for great places to rest and relax.

The Local Markets

There are a lots of markets in Jos where you can easily buy or sell in the state. There is room for everyone coming in to make business transactions. You can buy beads, local clothes, pots and lots more in most of the markets in the city.

This your stories is only for the diaries. Kurra Falls is occupied by insurgents known as Fulani Herdsmen. Don't even try to give people hope about visiting the place.

Josite said so.
