We know dogs are man‘s best friend, so why not Best Man too?

This past weekend, a special Golden Retriever named Gabe rose to the occasion at the wedding of U.S. Army veteran Justin Lansford in Florida.

Lansford, a paratrooper in the 82nd airborne division, lost his leg in 2012 in an IED explosion in eastern Afghanistan.

As part of his recovery, Lansford was paired with two-year-old Gabe through the Warrior Canine Connection, which provides support dogs to wounded warriors to help them manage with daily life and treat PTSD.

The two have been inseparable ever since.

Gabe helped Lansford propose to his high school sweetheart, Carol Balmes, and stayed by his side throughout the beautiful couple’s wedding ceremony.
