The "homes of the future" built in the past had walls filled with wires, connecting the various devices (VCR to TVs/Cable, Multiroom Audio, Intercom, Video Surveillance, Lighting etc) Changing a function was a major operation.

Today, the simple answer is connectivity. And not just connectivity, but hyperconnectivity.

What makes it a Smart Home?

Your home is where your heart is, and it's also where you spend most of your time. Nearly every aspect of the home has become connected — from the living room to the kitchen to the garage. Modern/face lifted homes now have smart appliances, connected lights, streaming media players and much, much more.

The engineers who built the Internet as a bombproof route for military communications never anticipated the sheer volume of traffic – from vital business intelligence to pictures of cats – it would enable. In the same way, an exponential growth in connected things will create whole new ways of doing things, of which we will not understand until they arrive.

Welcome to your Smart Home! A house that's smarter than you.

Security | Friday Smart Lock
There's a growing concern on how to secure properties this days. Think of how a door lock which can be unlocked remotely, tells you when there's someone by your door, and do even more.

Friday Smart Lock comes with Bluetooth and WiFi out of the box, so no need to buy extra modules. It also support Apple HomeKit and Thread (created by Samsung, Google/Nest and ARM), giving you a way to connect it to the home automation platforms you already have in place.

Intercom | Nucleus Intercom

It’s surprising how little home intercoms have evolved considering how long they’ve been around. “When my wife and I were renovating our house, we wanted an intercom system to keep tabs on our three little boys,” says Nucleus founder Jonathan Frankel. “But all the quotes came back above $3000 for the same technology mar parents installed 20 years ago.”

Frankel saw a need and he aims to fill it with the Nucleus smart-home intercom. His tablet-like device does a lot more than simply enable two people to speak to each other from different rooms. It’s also designed to be an all-in-one, voice-activated control panel for the connected home.

You can now connect with video or audio with anyone on the same system - whether they're in the next room or another country. Now more wires.

Energy Saving | Nebia Shower

When you think about it, there’s not a whole lot separating one shower head from another. Sure, they can vary in flow from high pressure - which feels like painful, stubby needles - to low pressure - feels like it’ll take five years for the conditioner to wash out - but when it comes down to it, it’s just water that falls down over your head from a single focal point built into a perforated nozzel.

Valid point bro but....

Businesses need to take advantage of the AI opportunity, not fear its advantage (stealing our job).

People need to reskill and focus on learning skills that cannot be done easily by computers, such as creativity and complex communication.

We need to respond with a shift and not react with fear.
