All girls in Nigeria and the rest of the world are celebrating today, October 11, the annual United Nations' International Day of the Girl.

And to mark the day, girls in over 93 countries will be going to the cinemas to see "He Named Me Malala", the groundbreaking documentary film of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever winner of the Nobel Prize, who is world famous as an 18-year old Pakistani girl leading a global campaign for the education of every underprivileged girl in the world.

There will be a special screening of "He Named Me Malala" from 11 am at the Silverbird Cinemas in the Silverbird Galleria on Victoria Island, Lagos. 205 school girls selected from different secondary schools have been invited to see the film approved and endorsed by the Lagos State Education Board.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu is the Special Guest of Honour of the day, in recognition of her leadership role as a popular champion of girls' education being the Founder and President of New Era Foundation.

The event is supported by The Malala Fund, Fox Searchlight, Crimson Media, Blue Pictures Film Distribution Limited, Nigerians Report Online, Girls United Together for Success (GUTS), Silverbird Group/Silverbird Cinemas, Silverbird TV, JSP Communications Limited, P&G, iREP International Documentary Forum, Freedom Park Lagos, Anyiam Osigwe Foundation, Kiddies & Brands Company, Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigerian Info, Galaxy TV, NTA and others.

There are places in Nigeria.. Typically where girls don't get educated simply because they are girls..
Support/ endorse the female child education embarassed
And every girl child deserves an education irrespective of her color, race, religion, and sexuality.
Happy Sunday pals

"The girl- child is the hope of any developing country, for the ignorance of the girl is the ignorance of the smallest unit of the society, the home . When we make it as a necessary duty to educate the girl child, we educate the society as a whole.

Lynpetra 1958

Stop the rape of the girl.
Stop THE VVF, they are known to suffer from in the north.Expose them to the need of the pen rather than the need of several weapons of mass spermatozoa!
Educate the girl to think independently but grow/learn dependently in a conducive system where moral uprightness is celebrated and honoured.
