The dreams of Chief Festus Odimegwu, former Osun governor , Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former National President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN to join the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari have been dashed.

Their names were missing in the final list of ministerial nominees unveiled by Senate President Bukola Saraki on Tuesday.

Incidentally, the three of them lost out to professors

Odimegwu lost out to Prof Anthony Onwuka, a professor of education administration, who was secretary to the government of Imo state and whose son is married to the daughter of Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Akeredolu lost out to Professor Omoleye Daramola while Oyinlola was replaced by Isaac Adewole, former Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan (UI), and a professor of obstetrics and gynaecology.

I weep for them

I see the inclusion of a lot of "new blood" in this government. Hopefully this will transform to new ideas, governance and development. I expect to see deviation from the policy of villagization to policy of globalisation which is what is often common with recycling of "old legs".
