It will be hard for some people to recall dat lagos was a former capital of the republic

Actually, instead of ranting about the use of Yoruba, I think the house should just allow him to use ibo language so they can just ignore him.
I guess after ranting "Nna Nna" for one hour he will get tired and go home.

Err...I don't know what to say. I know this is a means of encouraging local languages and Yoruba is spoken by the majority in Lagos hence the adoption once a week. I also know this has been the practice since 1999 and no one ever envisaged that there will ever be a member of that house that does not speak or understand Yoruba. Raising a motion to change it will be dead on arrival as the PDP does not have the numbers to effect the change in the house.

What he can do is to get a translator to go with him on Thursdays as I don't see this changing anytime.

Proudly Deceitful and treacherous

Lagos is Yorubaland? Since when? A Badagry man once told me that it is Badagry and Egun people that own Lagos. Yorubas are just settlers same as Igbos. Is it the same Lagos that Oba Dosunmu sold to the British in 1861? But why must the Lagos state Assembly conduct their sittings in Yoruba? Are they there to represent Lagosians or Yoruba people? If there is any indigenous language that has to be used, it has to be Igbo since Igbos make up half Lagos and are the largest ethnic group in that state. Yorubas want one Nigetia? They should be prepared to accept the consequences of it

If he is not contented with the use of yoruba in the assembly, he can join his brothers in Biafra or take solace in the lagoon. Smh!
You can see that this guy is not in the category of bigots. He represents a category of hardworking Nigerians towards the very crucial need for national integration through inter- tribal marriage and politics. The least he can get from decent fellow citizens is encouragement, tacit support and possibly, emulation. By so doing,we will be contributing our quota towards building a united, indivisible and viable nation; strong in diversity.
