The airport is owned by the FG. When Jonathan was remodeling airports, including the domestic ones, Amaechi complained that that of Port Harcourt shouldn't be left behind. But Jonathan's selfishness and his "husband", Patience, made him look elsewhere.

First of all the Airport is a FEDERAL PROJECT not state so it's not Amaechis fault.

Secondly Amaechi actually asked the FG to allow him build that airport and then they refund him the money and Jonathan's Government refused. Stella Oduah vandalized the rubbish we were managing before, moved the airport to a tent (that may be hired and a contract is on for it paying out millions monthly) and then goes on to build good airports in the north and East and yet Rivers and Bayelsa State has no fully built and functioning airport despite their oil revenue. If not for Akpabio, only Asaba airport would be in the south south and Asaba airport isn't even fully functional.
