The clock on the wall kept ticking
He pretended as if he had no inkling
It was the day for his first flight

Planes were flying coffins
His village friend had once read
He bowed down in prayer

In case, his day had come

His body shook with terror
As the plane gained altitude
Closely, he held the food tray in front of him
Willing the plane to stay in the air with his mind

The bright-eyed hostess brought the refreshments

He shook his head in a manner rash

The plane jerked as if pushed from behind
He screamed and wished the flight to rewind
Gently, the fine hostess held him down
Till he had a restless calm

At last, the plane started to descend
And he felt his hope rising at the familiar earthly sights
At touch down, he heaved a sigh of relief
