Dear Student,
In view of some of the posts by some of our students, it has become necessary to provide some basic information especially on the indefinite closure of the University of Ibadan in order to prevent any confusion. I therefore wish to state categorically that students on ODL mode are in no way affected by the closure and that,
1. The UIDLC model is ICT enabled student support blended learning with on line and face-to-face interactive components which entails students self-studying ahead of Interactive session.
2. For Returning students therfore (as indicated in the Calendar for 2015/16),  you are expected to be registering for your courses depending on the status of their results and commence self - study of  course materials before the commencement of interactive sessions and continuous assessments. This which ends early in June is what you should engage in now. So, this is not supposed to be a free period. You can perform better that approaching your study differently. Do not wait till the commencement of Interactive session before studying.
3. It is important to advise that, even students who are yet to register ashould avail themselves the relevant course materials and not wait till after registration or commencement of interactive sessions before studying the relevant materials. There is a big difference between  a student who studies his/her course materials before interactive session and others.
4. Immediately after the end of registration, validly registered students will be invited to join online interactive classes in the courses they registered for. Please note that online interaction and academic support have proved helpful to many who care to take advantage of the platforms.
5. Please note that there are many very active dedicated  social media platforms and pages that have been or will be created by some of you or your facilitators that can be of immense academic support and assist you in your programme. You are advised to join these depending on your circumstance. We will soon publish details of these to ease your membership.

Having addressed the real issue, please permit me to add that, we are making frantic efforts to publish all outstanding results so all students can conveniently register and to avoid problems relating to students inability to register as appropriate. We regret and apologise for the hardships caused to the affected students.
The other issue relates to results of Final year students. The results could not be concluded as at date because students in Faculty of Education are yet to conclude their Teaching Practice/ Practicum and more importantly, the deadline for submission of project is next month. Results cannot possibly be computed without the projects.

I seek continued understanding and further cooperation from all. Things are getting better and can still be improved upon with the cooperation of all.

And that

ALL STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES EXCEPT COLLECTION OF TRANSCRIPTS AND CLEARANCE ARE NOW LOCATED AT THE CBT CENTRE AT SASA AND NO LONGER AT MOROHUNDIYA COMPLEX AT MONIYA. YOU WILL BE DENIED ACCESS IF YOU GO TO MONIYA. PLEASE NOTE.

With all best wishes to you all.

Re: 2015/2016 Ui Dlc Admission by kulguy2011: 2:18pm On Jul 12, 2016
Dear Student,

Please find below and embedded (attached) a very important information on your programme. Please read carefully.

This is a quick one to give an update on your programme. It is important for you to advise your friends or mates who have been indifferent to messages in respect of their programmes. This is important because of lack of understanding on procedure and processes as evidenced in the social media pertaining to their studies.  It is also important to ask that you configure your mobile phones to receive appropriate messages from the Centre. Please note the following vital information:

1.       Extension of Registration and administration of CA:  As a result of a meeting with a cross section of students, the deadline for registration is now 31 July, 2016 with the commitment that there will be no further extension whatever may be the case. This will definitely affect the commencement of the Continuous Assessment (CA) for 300 -500 level students which will now start from August 1, 2016.The CA for Fresh students and students having ‘carry – over’ in 100 and 200 level courses are going to start their CA on 22 July, 2016. The practice sessions on the CA platform will commence on Friday, 15 June, 2016.

2.       Interactive Session for 400 and 500 level students at the Lagos Centre: Obviously, the 3-daySallah holiday requires the re-scheduling of some of the classes during the holiday period. In view of these, the Centre is rescheduling the missed sessions. Affected students will be contacted on the new schedule.

3.       Extra- units: Some students have requested for extra-units for different reasons but it should be noted that extra-units is not an entitlement and can only be granted in certain situations within prescribed limit. In view of the situation with some of our students, there is compelling need to allow some FINAL YEAR STUDENTS to exceed approved limits. Consequently, the Board of Examiners of the Centre has decided that final year students should be allowed to register not more than 10 units in addition to the current registration.’

4.       Change of course/Department: there have been many complaints of delay in effecting requests relating to change from one Department to the other. It has to be noted that this is not automatic and there is the need for background check on entry qualifications of applicants.

5.       Add and Delete: There will be opportunity to add and delete after the close of registration.

6.       Submission of Final Year projects: Final year students are advised to submit their projects so that their results can be computed ahead of graduation in November. It is important that the soft copy of the projects be sent to designated email account for each department apart from the hard/bound copies and CD to the Department.

7.       Complaints: Let me assure you that the complaints on varying issues are being addressed. However, it is important for individuals to take responsibility for their study by availing themselves with readily available information. While some complaints are genuine, there are many that were due to lack of information. Some students who suspended their studies will need help to re-activate more so if they never suspended their study officially.

8.       Sale of hard copies of course materials: This is to inform you that, hard copies of some recently updated course materials that are consistent with ODL format are available for sale at reasonable prices. Copies will be available at both Ibadan and Lagos Centres from Monday, 18 July, 2016.

9.       Calendar:  It is important to reiterate our commitment to the Calendar as published. The adjustments with be minimal. However, your cooperation and cooperation will be appreciated.

10.   Student Handbook: The latest and current version of Student Handbook will be uploaded on Monday, 18 July, 2014. Please, read about all you need to know about DLC and its operations.
Re: 2015/2016 Ui Dlc Admission by kulguy2011: 3:26am On Jul 24, 2016
Dear Student, This is to inform you that Continuous Assessment(CA) earlier scheduled for 22nd July, 2016 will now commence on the 1st of August 2016. The extension is to allow students that have carry over in lower level courses to do so before the deadline. Please note that CAs are tied to registration. Every student is hereby advised to register all courses before the deadline. A mini time-table for CAs will be published early next week. You are advised to keep on checking your DLC dedicated email from time to time. Best wishes.

Good day Sir/Ma;
Please I would like to make an inquiry.
It goes thus:
Can a 'Merit' grade in a University Diploma from The Federal University of Technology be enough to obtain a direct entry into 200level for the Distant Learning Mode of the University of Ibadan?
Thanks in anticipation of your reply.
