November 9? That's too far for a 3rd round game that the second round game was played 2 days ago.

Why Oliseh Omitted Victor Moses

Chelsea loanee Victor Moses has been left out of a 2018 World Cup eliminator against Swaziland after he skipped Nigeria's recent friendlies in Belgium, officials have disclosed.

Victor Moses has been flying at London club West Ham, but he did not impress coach Sunday Oliseh when he opted out of friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon as a precautionary measure against injury.

“Oliseh was far from happy with Victor Moses when he withdrew from the friendlies against DRC and Cameroon in Belgium and that was why he left him out of the squad,” said a top official who was with the Eagles in Belgium.

“The player cannot choose the games he will play for Nigeria.”

Victor Moses and his handlers have always tried to stay clear of friendly matches involving national team, preferring for the player to only be called up for competitive games.

The West Ham forward was outstanding when Nigeria won a third AFCON two years ago, but he has now not featured for the Eagles for several months.

I pity Swaziland sha. When you consider the brutality of our in-form fowards: Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Iheanacho, and Obagoal....I think that should spell DEATH for their World Cup hopes. Really, i pity them in advance..

If it was when Eagles were Eagles, this match would have been a foregone conclusion. Over 2 legs we will qualify no doubt. Good luck.

lets go there:

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has recovered from illness to join the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier in Swaziland.

Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye disclosed Oliseh, who missed a CHAN qualifier return leg in Burkina Faso last month due to a viral infection, has recovered fully.

“He’s in camp and he’s in shape,” said Ibitoye.

Europe-based goalkeepers Carl Ikeme and Dele Alampasu as well as Ikechukwu Ezenwa from Sunshine Stars, Chima Akas and Austin Oboroakpo have also reported to the training camp.

More players are being expected later Monday, but flight delays caused by a Lufthansa strike may cause the Eagles to only begin training Tuesday night at the Abuja National Stadium, Ibitoye further said.

The training will be from 7pm.

The team will fly out of Abuja Thursday morning on a chartered flight.

The match will be played on Friday in Swaziland with kick-off slated for 6pm Nigerian time with the return leg on November 17 in Port Harcourt.
