Stuttgart signs 16-year-old Nigerian

German Bundesliga side, VFB Stuttgart, has offered little known Nigerian youngster, Stanley Okoro, a contract after undergoing a month-long trial in Stuttgart.

Okoro plies his trade with Ansfeld, an Orlu, Imo State-based football academy owned by Emeka Ezeala, a technical assistant to erstwhile Super Eagles manager, Berti Vogts.

Okoro, who is expected to feature for Ansfeld, when the club plays the Flying Eagles in an exhibition game on Thursday, will join his new club in June.

He will become the second Nigerian player after Jonathan Akpoborie to sign and play for the 2009 Bundesliga title contender.

Heard it all before. . . . . I don't get excited when 16 year old (24 year old) Nigerians get snapped up by big clubs and are labelled 'the next big thing'. . . . . we went through it with Kanu, Martins, Haruna, Okunowo, Mikel and countless others. . . . these players will never amount to anything special cos their age is falsified. . . .

The issue with the latest oldster touted as the next best thing is that the news stops as suddenly as it started. Speaking of sudden news, anyone knows what happened or is happening to Macauley Chrisantus?

At 61yrs, oops i mean 16 years, he's definitely going to have a lot to do. Let's see what he can do first before we start to hype the man, sorry boy

How many of us know that xavi,ronaldinho,seydou keita,robbie keane,esteban cambiasso,chevanton all played nig99?Apart from yobo who else from that squad can be regarded to be at his peak now?

I heard three Nigerian clubs were after his services plus another club in Doubai before Stuttgart pushed them aside with big bucks and better opportunities.
