For the second time since the beginning of the trial of Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, the Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Justice Danladi Umar, Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubarkar Malami and Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase to appear before the court.

Justice Abdul Kafarati made the order following an ex parte application filed by Saraki’s counsel, Ahmed Raji SAN seeking to restrain government agencies from continuing the trial of the senate president.


It will be recalled that similar order was made by Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on 17th September summoning the Federal Ministry of Justice, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Mr. Sam Saba and that of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Justice Danladi Umar, to appear before the court on September 21, to show cause why Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki should be prosecuted.

This sparked several controversies as many legal pundit fault the powers of Federal High Court judge to summon CCT judge, citing the two courts has equal powers before the law..

Saraki is facing a 13-count charge bordering on alleged corruption and false declaration of assets, levelled against him by the CCB.

Rubbish! Until the CJN addresses the issue of Jurisdiction on this matter, Danladi won't even move an inch.

This case will not see the light of day.
