The PDP was a very powerful political Party that was going nowhere for the next 60 years because small parties could simply not trouble it.

Tinubu conceived the idea of the merger of political Parties as the only way to take on and defeat the PDP. He ensured it came to pass despite attempt, internal and external, to scuttle the formation of the APC.

Tinubu shielded koboless Buhari, providing the clout and finance, to ensure Buhari became APC candidate with events culminating in a primaries where Buhari got almost 100% of SW delegate votes, courtesy of Tinubu, which was even far more than he got from the North.

Tinubu, with governors he had helped to install in power, delivered 4 out of 6 SW States for Buhari in 2015 when our President did not win a single SW State in 2011 !!!

Buhari became President alongside the VP Tinubu chose to run with him. Today it is Tinubu's boys and girl , that he empowered directly and indirectly, controlling the most critical and important Ministerial portfolio in Nigeria today. There is so much in between the abridged history I have supplied above yet it is crystal clear the man is arguably the most powerful politician in Nigeria if we even discount everything else and only take his feat of leading the sustained and very painful charge to depose the PDP that boasted under Ogbulafor it would remain in power for 60 years. We know some, like you, will never have the clarity of vision and honesty to admit it. The writer is not talking about whether TINUBU is corrupt or not. He is talking about the political strength of the man. The issue of whether he is corrupt or not should be left for another day. Some are commenting that he is patron of drug barons. There is no established case against him on that, so it is just the position of weakness that some are taking. Even if he is, barons in drugs, arms and oil rule anywhere in the world. Example is Bush family in America. JAGABAN is the mastermind of the present Nigerian politics. He is the single architect of the present political equation. He developed the formula single handedly. You have lost touch with the Op's argument, he argued that no governor from 1999-2007 is as influential as tinubu is presently. It shows how high tinubu is for u to have compared him with obj. Ask governors under PDP how they fared during obj's rule talkless of opposition governor. Take it or leave it, tinubu doesn't lose anything he holds on to, tinubu will still determine who becomes this country's next president from this year onward. He is an icon that rep South West, never a president, yet he's loved by his people even more than how Jonathan is loved by his people if at all they still love him.
