This is not a lame way to crave attention

There's no point trading words with you cos dumb people are usually the ones referring to others as being silly

Now that you have had my attention, so kindly swerve this way ====ยป

Educated to be uneducated. chai.

On a met serious note. it is very true.

Yes, it's true. Education in Africa is part of the instrument of slavery and colonialism. It wasn't created for our own good. I talked about it in details at this link http://www.africason.com/2015/10/intellectual-slavery-most-dangerous.html

Many years ago, Dr. Walter Rodney in his book "How Europe underdeveloped Africa" noticed what I said, and he called it "Education for underdevelopment". Africa CANNOT develop or be truly independent, until we create our own model of education that have no colonial hangovers. Education devoid of the brainwashing colonial education that we inherited from Britain, France, Spain, Portugal. I'm talking about the education by, of, and for an African mind.

I get your point, but I disagree with you. There is nothing wrong with the educational structure, we just need to update our syllabus and probably add a local flavour to it.

Asian universities use the western educational model spiced up with local flavour and they are progressing . Nigeria needs to do same.

Sometimes I think something is seriously wrong with black people. My thought tho.

By making the above observation in bold, you've already agreed to part of the things said.

I don't agree completely with you. I think it's better put that way. I read the link you posted, and I do not agree completely too. I had tonnes of documentaries on my laptop before it was stolen, if not I'll have recommended a couple of them for you.

Pan Africanism to me is a big FRAUD.

Why?

Because they always paint Africans as victims and at the same time not acknowledge the role we Africans played in the mess we are in.

That aside...

I liked Fela because he is a role model for every African, but other pan Africans even Rodney himself, I don't agree with their ideals in totality.

Pan-Africanism wasn't and isn't a fraud. Africanists like Kwame Nkrumah, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Kenyatta, e.t.c set you free. How could it possibly have been a fraud?.

Dr. Walter Rodney wasn't African, but a Guyanese. And since it appears you don't know him, I'll advise you to please stop quoting what he doesn't represent.

Please, let's end it here, unless you have a credible counter debate. If so, state them and let's talk about it.

Lol!!! you are getting emotional already. I know Walter Rodney very well, probably even more than you In my undergraduate days, it was compulsory to buy his book to take a particular course I pol. Science.

He visited Africa and was a socialist in inclination. true or false?

Why I said pan africanism is a fraud today is that they don't acknowledge the role we Africans play in the ruination of our beloved continent. Simple as that. Fela was one of the few exceptions because while opening out eyes to the way we were cheated, he also chastised u.s. for the role we play in ruining ourselves

That said, for true emancipation, and true pan africanism, we would need to put our stupid clannish nature of ours in the dustbin, and unite. simple.

I read a lot about Jomo Kenyatta and the tribalism in politics that has messed the country up ( between kikuyu and the luo) is due to his clannish style of politics.

What of Nnamdi Azikwe, Awolowo and the rest.

Look at all these things dispassionately and tell me what you think?

Nigerian graduates deserve to be respected. Some people don't know what it means to spend 4, 5, 6, 7 years in a tertiary institution and after all the stress yet no guarantee of securing meaningful source of livelihood. If I could overcome unemployment in Nigeria, anyone else can. Read the story on how I overcame unemployment in Nigeria: http://www.obinnaonyenali.com/2014/09/this-is-story-of-how-i-overcame.html
