A 37-year-old man has been arrested by the police for allegedly breaching a contract he had with a prostitute in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

The suspect, Elias Okorie, who claimed to be an officer of the Nigerian Prison Service in Enugu State, was said to have raised a false alarm after engaging in a fight with the prostitute who he had slept with in a hotel in the area.

City News learnt that the suspect had agreed to pay the sex worker the sum of N2,000 but paid her N1000 after having a carnal knowledge of her.

The source said the refusal to offset the balance by the suspect resulted in a fight between the prostitute and the manager of the hotel, adding that a 52” color television and one big speaker were destroyed in the process.

According to the source, the suspect alleged that his wedding ring and an undisclosed sum of money were stolen from him during the fight.

City News further learnt that it was in course of the fight that the suspect alerted the police, claiming that a robbery attack was taking place in the hotel.

“The police who stormed the scene almost immediately, were however fooled, when they later discovered that it was not a robbery case as the suspect alleged,” the source added.

When contacted, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurruddeen Sabo, confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect would soon be charged to court for giving false information and misleading police officers.
