The son can function as deputy to faleke.

i doubt if the son has ever held any political posts , in 4 years time he can contest in 2019.

BTW, i am still at a loss as why no one in kogi political space is challenging the number of eligible voters in the 91 polling units scheduled for supplementary elections. INEC has only given the info that there are 49,953 registered voters in the 91 polling units, but , while all eligible voters are registered voters, not all registered voters are eligible voters. A registered voter with NO pvc is not an eligible voter. If INEC is challenged to account for collected PVCs in those 91 polling units, and it is less than 41,000 pvcs collected, the supplementary election is not necessary.

At least it is known that there are 1.3 million registered voters in Kogi, only 1 million + is eligible to vote.
I totally understand your logic. But the unfortunate thing is that PVC is not recognised by the Electoral Act. As far as the Electoral Act is concerned, all registered voters are eligible voters and all eligible voters are registered voters. So INEC hands are tied. I think it's high time the Electoral Act is amended to take care of these flaws.

I'm a Kogite but these are sentiments from illiterates.

Are we running a Monarchy in Kogi?

Abeg make them find seat gonsit down jor.

Is the governorship seat the birth right of Audu's family?

Let the deputy take over jor.

Well they are too stupid to know what a deputy / running-mate denotes.

A running-mate is someone that is considered by the flag-bearer and the party to be most suited to take charge should the flag-bearer not be around to do so. That person is seen as the most competent, next / second to the flag-bearer.

All these their drama, is proof that they are olodos.

Another tactic to push aside Faleke. It's certain that Faleke can never defeat an Igala man or goat in a primary election.

Faleke can never become a deputy to a ra.pist. Audu's son will certainly die like his father if he picks up that post. You can't keep depriving the good people of Kogi their rights, and expect God or Satan to keep you alive. If God decides not to kill you, Satan will!

The stupid inec officer Prof Kucha should have declared Audu as the winner because he knows fully well that on 25,000 out of the 49,000 remaining electorates have their pvc and were already accredited. his reason for declaring the election inconclusive is barbaric. may God save us in this country

Got one conspiracy theory that Audu actually died in the midnight & that the REC (acting on the instructions of some "forces" ) did not want a YORUBA person to be governor & deliberately created this logjam with the intention that somehow someway he will not get the seat..

That Kucha Man should be tried & jailed!!!

Then APC should be in court asking the supplementary election stopped, and the inconclusiveness tag on election was an error, it is an outright win. The constitutional crisis can be solved simply on that ground. Abi na mugun all those APC kogi lawyers be ? If they cant do their job, they should seek the services of an engineer like me.

Can 25,000+ voters overturn a 41,000+ lead??
Total number of PVCs distributed in the 91 affected polling unit amount to "35,785"........Confirmed from INEC

Elective positions are now an inheritance just as how Yuguda thought by marrying Yaradua's daughter and decamping to the PDP, he assumed he will be crowned king of Nigeria.

Once Buhari kicks the bucket in office ( buhari by the way will never step down after two terms- his almajiri constituents will see to that) we can hope to see his son Yusuf crowned Khalifa of Nijeriya.

Na wa o, are you serious?

It's even 49000+ sef, and the margin of victory is 41,000+..I agree with you that the electoral act should be amended to cater for PVC provisions. That being done, this supplementary election issue would have been laid to rest.

Why is Nigeria's constitution so cumbersome..

2 different SANs used the same section to postulate different opinions...

That REC deserves to be drawn & quartered, he created this mess with that Malami of an AGF as well!!!!

Can't wait for the day that there will be a dinstinction between AGF & Minister of Justice..

Only God knows how many court cases will be triggered by this constitutional logjam, I have a strong feeling an ADMINISTRATOR or the SPEAKER of the HOA will oversee affairs till a resolution is found..
There is no logjam, the enemies of ethnic minorities in Kogi state and some cabals want to circumvent the right of Abiodun Faleke but it will be resisted. Whether Faleke is Yoruba or Ijaw is irrelevant now because he was legitimately nominated as Audu's running mate and the SC have said it severally that the role of running mate is for purpose like this. This is same way some group of people tried to stop Boni Haruna from Governing Adamawa in 1998 because he is a Christian. They had earlier thought that NO Christian will govern the state.

Nigeria belongs to everybody, Kogi state belongs to Kogi people irrespective of tribe or religion. The AGF and INEC will be resisted through the court if they try to deny James Faleke.

You're not more Yoruba than me,but the Kucha man has no fault here. The Electoral Act which INEC operates with does not make provisions for PVCs but deals with number of registered voters, which in this case in the 91 polling units left is 49k+ while the margin of victory is 41k+..to avoid unnecessary legal cases over disenfranchising the 38k+ people with PVCs who majority of them happen to come from the PDP candidate's LGA, he needed to play safe. But with the decision INEC has taken to proceed with supplementary election, APC would emerge victorious ultimately. Do you think majority of the people (Igala) that voted APC wanted Faleke as governor at all?

James Faleke should make sure he doesn't get arm twwisted into participating in any primary, he should head to court if he is being impeded from assuming the position...

& for those making the Igala supremacy argument, they should STFU, 4yrs under a non Igala will not kill them, the years under Igala have not done the state any good...

Maybe providence is stepping in to move the state forward.....

@ sheggy13 ,

Nigeria is the only country (according to legal luminaries) that has Laws that don't serve the purpose of the citizens..

Laws should have been amended to accomodate PVC but in the absence of that, the REC still had ulterior motives.. The relevant clause of the electoral law he latched on to says MAY & not SHALL
