After praising, and thanking God, he said: "O People, listen well to my words, for I do not know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Treat others justly so that no one would be unjust to you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (riba), therefore all riba obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital , however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer inequity. God has judged that there shall be no riba and that all the riba due to `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib shall henceforth be waived.

Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith ibn `Abd al Muttalib.

O Men, the Unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which God forbade, and to forbid that which God has made permissible. With God the months are twelve in number. Four of them are sacred, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Sha`ban. Beware of the devil, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste...

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God (The One Creator of the Universe), perform your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your financial obligation (zakah) of your wealth. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before God (The Creator) and you will answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR MESSENGER WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I am leaving you with the Book of God (the QUR'AN*) and my SUNNAH (the life style and the behavioral mode of the Prophet), if you follow them you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.

God judged the old world. First, he turned Adam and Eve out from the garden, dealt with Cain and thereafter flushed humanity away by a flood. He proceeded and punished the Canaanites for their sins. He plainly said he'll do so when their cup was full. He didn't overthrow them like Sodom. He used Israel to chastise them. It was at God's command and might and name. Some Canaanite neighbours perished not because God wanted them to, but they decided to wage unprovoked war with God's chosen seed. God told Israel to be wary of His hate for sin. When they fell short, He also chastised them by* heathen nations. In so doing, although Israel was supposed to replenish the association God lost in Eden, there wasn't any sacred cow. Whether an individual or a nation, whoever sinned, or opposed God's plan, or was a threat to the rest He promised His own, is sure to be chastised by any means God leans to. But God decided to extend the hand of mercy to all men by sending Jesus to proclaim repentance and the ushering in of a new and more glorious order of forgiveness, freedom from sin and grace to live above it; that men given expansive time could make up their minds anyhow and accept His offer of redemption. In this order, He does not lean on judgement anymore. He writes His law in our hearts and gives us His holy Spirit. This now is the conflict: God didn't isolate Israel from chastisement, nor was identification with them an automatic shield from condemnation which Islam upholds. God's criteria for being His is entirely based on obedience. Remember that only 2 persons made it to the promised land. Again, this distinguishes God from Allah. He has no favourites. Israel failed to live up to the Edenic expectation, so God took His quest for a people worldwide. Jesus therefore came that through Him all men might have equal access to God and be His sons again. Forgiveness became abundant, and patience , while all men are still talked to to reconsider their ways and become God's in truth and in spirit. But while this was on going, Muhammad suddenly interjected with an order that disrupted mercy and repentance and justification by faith, not of works. Declaring death and disaster for God's enemies he contradicted Christ who taught us non-resistance and tolerance as we propagate the faith. It's why we don't accept his testimony. Moreover, he seemed to present to us another Jesus which Paul warned us of. A lot could be said about Mohammed, but I'll say less. So, don't think God indulged in unjust killings. No. He punished necessarily, and weeded out any proven source of pollution of His holy seed. But Christ has come and He has become more lenient having offered for us His most precious. Amen

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas said: “My father told me that he was present at the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah. He praised and glorified Allah, and reminded and exhorted (the people). Then he [Muhammad] said: 'I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise, unless they commit clear indecency. If they do that, then forsake them in their beds and hit them, but without causing injury or leaving a mark. If they obey you, then do not seek means of annoyance against them. You have rights over your women and your women have rights over you. Your rights over your women are that they are not to allow anyone whom you dislike to tread on your bedding (furniture), nor allow anyone whom you dislike to enter your houses. And their right over you are that you should treat them kindly with regard to their clothing and food.'

I'm commanded to forgive. It doesn't usher in a society of lopsided persecution, nevertheless. God has instituted governments for the 'punishment of them that do evil, to execute judgement against them' (Romans 13). In a civil society, God has appointed the powers that be to see to sanity and orderliness. So, you might not escape God-instituted instruments of prosecution and retribution even if I forbear and do not take vengeance by myself, which I must not take.
