The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah"God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim", The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequenceof total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. The name of God's religion lslam was not decided upon by later generations of man. It was chosen by Allah Himself and clearly mentioned in His final revelation to man.

I don't normally respond when it comes to religious issues. Most times I watch as people display their obvious ignorance......... truthman2012 and OLAAGBEDU especially. I have come to realize that silence is golden. Why attack other people's beliefs? Does that make yours the better religion?


Let's not dwell on the many errors in the book.... cos of course that's what biblios, Latinized to bible, means. Let's just look at a few chapters of that Man made book on the superiority of the man over the woman......


1. "Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

When the book commands the woman to be silent and subject to man, not to teach in a church or usurp authority over men, does it mean the book of the Christians does not recognize that there are far more intelligent women than men? Now @OP, is your bible in error over this?

3. Why is it that almost all chapters of your bible that talks about man woman relationship commands the woman to "SUBMIT," whereas it commands the man to "LOVE."
Or do you have a different meaning for being submissive?

Regarding inheritance the Qur’an states in Surah 4:11: “The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females.” Does not this verse mathematically establish the fact that Islam is discriminatory towards women?
Regarding testimonies in court, the Qur’an states in Surah 2:282: “And call to witness, from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not found then a man and two women.” Once again,does not this verse mathematically establish the fact that Islam is discriminatory towards women? Why is a man’s testimony worth twice the testimony of a woman in the Islamic court? Since the testimony of woman is only half of that of a man, how can a Muslim woman who is raped by a Muslim man, testify against him? The Qur’an states in Surah 2:223: “Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will.” How can Allah compare the husband’s dominion over his wife’s body to that of a piece of land? Is there no mutual respect for each other’s body in the relationship between a husband and a wife in Islam?
