Coconut water is dubbed 'Mother Nature's Sport Drink' because it is super hydrating. It is low in calories and virtually zero fat and cholesterol content.
Benefits are:
1. It hydrates your body after strenuous exercise.
2. It supplies the body with potassium, which is essential for neurone transmission.
3. Absence of Sodium, unlikely to raise blood pressure.
4. No fat
5. Does not add to body cholesterols
A study shows coconut water enhanced with sodium was as good as drinking a commercial sports drink for post-exercise rehydration with better fluid tolerance. Another study reported that coconut water caused less nausea, fullness, and stomach upset and was easier to consume in large amounts during rehydration.
