There is no country where geniune money is stopped from being banked.
This is a poverty consciousness that Buhari is bringing into the country and time will tell

Did she receive the rent in Nigeria in foreign currency?

What kind of rhetorical question is this. If you are based abroad and come back to Nigeria and receive money, won't you convert it back to the currency of your home/base country?
I don't know anything about the woman but if she received Naira in Nigeria, do you expect her to take NAIRA back to the UK? Wouldn't she just change it at the BDC and take it along?

Akainzo:

According to her, the money is from RENT received from tenants and jobs done while in Nigeria. Was she paid in Dollars for rent or the work?

Was she in Sambisa when CBN announced that all transactions must be in Naira, and thus her tenants would have paid in Naira and she can then dutifully transfer them to pay her so called children's school fees anywhere in the world.

We owe this country a duty to read, understand her laws and not just be supporting criminal acts.

Please explain how you expect her to convert the naira she was paid.
- Banks won't accept dollar deposits so how is she expected to fund her domiciliary in order to transfer to her account abroad?
-Assuming she leaves the money in naira in a naira account, how do you expect her to be able to use the money abroad when daily withdrawal limit is $200 and monthy total limit is $1000. You expect her to be withdrawing 200 bucks every 5 days for one million years? Also, the banks will charge close to 8 dollars in fees on every 200 dollars

Seriously...Some comments are hilarious and laughable. Its a known fact that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others. Nigerians suffer not because of leadership but quality of followership. Law states anything above $10,000 should be declared and some Nairalanders are justifying illegality. This is pathetic and annoying. Does two wrongs make a right? When you comment, think about Nigeria of your dream. If NDLEA is trying to do sth meaningful and deserves praise, they should be lauded. The type of comments i read here shows again why youths are being neglected and not carried along. if youth are the future of this country and these are the comments of future leaders....SMH and weep for Nigeria.

it a new policy by the government not to deposit in foreign currency..... so, I guess she must have been paid the rent in naira before she did the conversation here.....

so why didn't she pay the naira equivalent to the banks before she had to change it to dollars

She said she is using the funds to pay her children school fees, tell me the best way she can do that since it's impossible now to make bank transfer

Ignorant NL folks talking. Naija banks don't accept foreign currencies. They don't do wire transfer as well

Tell that to GMB who pays estacode to his aides and sycophants in $$€€ on foreign trips but expects lawful Nigerians to pay for goods and services overseas with Naira...

What is the big deal about this.
The Buharinomics and as supported by the CBN is such that it makes transaction cumbersome. She cannot paid the said sum into her account and neither could she have declared it cause there is supposedly a limit to the amount of cash on can carry when travelling.
Nigeria is going down down economically

There are many VALID and LEGAL means to transfer monies to UK from Nigeria. Those legal means are always available!

If she then decides to Change the currency via Black Market means, the legal thing to do is DECLARE the amount at the airport. Not declaring anything higher than $10K is an offence in practically every country in the world!

Let me help you, she puts the money into her account here in Naija. Then she can do any/all of the following:

1. Apply to transfer Personal Money via the Form A
2. Apply to use the money to pay her childrenn's school fees via Form A
3. Change the money via parallel market AND DECLARE it at the airport.

Hope you now understand that there were options available to her.

Please how much is that in Naira ??

As for the dollars, the market conversion price is N199 for $1, but bank will exchange it for you at N190 per dollar... So $114,245 = N21,706,550..
As for the euro, the market exchange price is €217 for €1 bank will exchange it for you at N210 per euro.. So £2,020 = N424,200

As Received : "You've got to read this Excerpts from an interview with a Jewish leader about Blacks.

INTERVIEWER:
Why are blacks so behind Economically?

JEWISH LEADER:
The only thing blacks understand is Consumption. Blacks don't understand the importance of creating and building wealth.

The fundamental rule is to keep your money within your racial group. We the Jews build Jewish business, hire Jewish, buy Jewish and spend Jewish. There is nothing wrong with that but it is a basic rule blacks cannot comprehend and follow; "He kills his fellow blacks daily instead of wanting to see his fellow black do succeed" 93% of blacks killed in America are by other blacks.

Their leaders steal from their people and send the money back to their colonial master from whom they borrow the same money from.

Every successful black want to spend his money in the country of his colonial masters. They go on holiday abroad, buy houses abroad, school abroad, go for medical treatment abroad etc instead of spending this money in their own country to benefit their people.

Statistics show that the Jew's money exchanges hands 18 times before leaving his community while for blacks it is probably a maximum of once or even zero.

Only 6% of black money goes back into their community. This is why Jews are at the top and blacks are at the bottom of every ladder of society.

Instead of buying Louis Vuitton, Hermes, expensive cars, shoes, houses, dresses etc, blacks could industralize Africa, build banks and get rid of colonial institutions by putting them out of business.

INTERVIEWER:
What is your thought on failure of blacks after 150yrs?

JEWISH LEADER:
Well, nothing is ever the blackman's fault. His compulsive habit of killing his own, compulsive material consumption. His inability to build businesses or preserve wealth are usually somebody else's fault.

INTERVIEWER:
So what can blacks do to liberate themselves

JEWISH LEADER: Blacks must take responsibility. Blacks must unite. And vehemently fight corrupt leaders who run down their country and run to IMF as though IMF is Father Christmas.

Pls. forward this until it goes round the continent of Africa.
We all need to learn our lessons quick and build our Nation."

You kids don't know the law and the same law applicable to all countries . it's illegal to travel with cash in excess of above 10 thousand dollars without declearing the source of the money to the authorities of the country. She has bridged the international crimal law, not even Nigerian law.
