Sylva leads, Dickson storms INEC centre

Yenagoa - Early results released by the
Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) indicate that the candidate of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s
governorship election in Bayelsa State, Timipre
Sylva is leading, reports NewDay.
Results from the seven out of the eight local
governments where elections took place on
Saturday showed that Sylva is leading his closest
rival, the incumbent Governor, Seriake Dickson of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Results from Ekeremor, Brass, Kolokuma/
Opokuma, Nembe and Yenagoa Local Government
Areas showed that Sylva had pulled ahead of
Dickson, although the governor was on top in
Sagbama Local Government area.
On hearing the results, an angry Gov Dickson was
alleged to have stormed the collation centre of
INEC in Onopa, Yenagoa LGA on Saturday night.
Dickon was reported to have stormed the place at
about 11pm and threatened to deal seriously with
agents of the APC, Werinipre Seibarugu, former
Deputy Governor and Fortune Panebi, State
Publicity Secretary of the APC.
The Sylva/Igiri Campaign Organisation (SICO),
which disclosed this, said Dickson was at the
collation centre to manipulate results being
collated from different wards in Yenagoa.
SICO’s Director, Media and Publicity, Nathan Egba
said the action of Dickson was clearly against the
electoral law as he had no authority as a
candidate to go to the Yenagoa Collation Centre
especially as he was not from the LGA.

Honestly i doubt the possibility of APC winning Bayelsa. I support APC but it will be a difficult thing if not anything.Particularly with the GEJ factor and the tempo of things at the moment.
