All this.... Non in South East., Yet Anambra and Enugu scores highest in Jamb and Waec every year..

Moral : It's not really the school you attend. It's how dedicated and brilliant you are..

Most of these kids don't even attempt waec and Jamb undecided

Competition, year , winner etc that would have been more ecstatic than the songs of praise you just wrote.

Do it yourself. Google it or go to each school and ask them for it. That'll be more ecstatic, don't you think?

They teach them ahead of their peers in normal schools, their SS1 maths is filled with further maths and chemistry is WAEC standard just in SS1. I'm a chemistry graduate and I marvel whenever I see their assignments they give them whenever they go on holidays. I go through a lot of stress whenever I'm being sent to fetch my nieces from school

It is not how far. It is how well. After rushing children how many of them can demonstrate it and blaze the trail?
How many of them can compete with their brilliant public school counterparts? If the school does not convert the dull ones to galactic they don't worth it.
Don't forget that no matter how you were trained here those in abroad still rate you as substandard education product.

Poverty is truly a curse, Nigerian pliticians are old people they shouldn't be having primary or sec kids save for those with numerous wives, however, there are successful businesses in Nigeria that can afford any of those schools.
Some companies even pay for their staff kids to attend those schools.
An average company owner can afford these schools, you guys are too wretched to think straight.

That got me laughing. When they say Nigerians are poor it isn't only a physical poverty but mental too. Individuals have been so gang-banged by suffering that anybody who has 1million is a thieving politician.

To think that this comments are coming mostly from graduates.

A lot of comments here have really got me laughing. It is true that there is a correlation today between the school fees and the quality of education but there is what I call an optimal fees. The relationship is like a straight line graph with a positive slope indicating that the more money, more educational value added but the somewhere that line flattens out indicating that irrespective of the amount of money added there is no corresponding educational value added rather what Iis added is shear luxury. Sorry to say most of these schools fall into these categories.

Most of these schools heads are entitled to holidays abroad twice a year with their families, who do you think sponsors that? The students themselves from time to time are taken for excursions abroad, who pays for that? Most of these schools need to hire police security vans with hilux vans to escort these kids school buses to and fro from school, someone has to pay. Even in common sports competitions, they take these kids to play with the likes of man utd and Chelsea fc junior teams, I am not joking here, someone has to pay. So my brothers and sisters if you look at some of these things, they are just shear luxury and have little impact on the students ability to perform.

Now let me give you my experience with one of the students in one of the schools listed. The secondary school boy was sent by his school to come do what they call industrial attachment (IT) in our company-of course the boys father and my boss are friends so it was an easy ride and he was sent to me for mentoring, so I first decided to have a chat with the boy to know where to start. To my chargrin, I discovered the boy didn'tt know who Nnamdi Azikiwe, Awolowo, Belewa are!!!!! I decided to find out why by asking him whether they offered history, he said yes but they do like the history of cuba, dominican republic, world war 2 etc and I asked him don't you do nigerian history? He said No! ......brothers and sisters we have a big problem on our hands, to be continued. ......

It's these secondary school students that go on to University and rub shoulders with the children of elites in the UK and US. When these folks graduate and go to work, start business, or explore opportunities, it's these networks that they tap. It is a sad fact that poor people in UK, US, or Nigeria don't have the connections to do the things that employ thousands of people. If you wanted to tap a network of investors for equity or loan, guess which Rolodex you're going to use?

Bill Gates is ONE kid that dropped out of college. There are millions of wealthy American elites/business leaders who did not drop out. The focus on Bill Gates is like saying "since one person won the lottery, you too don't have to study hard, or work or start a business. Just relax, and you too can win the lottery". Obviously not very useful advice, so why keep trotting it out?

Bill was able to assemble investment money, business contacts, legal advice, technical assistance, sales channels etc from people who didn't drop out. Even Bill went to expensive/privileged primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions.

If not for the fact that he had access to a computer in primary school (you had to be extremely privileged to see and use a computer in early 1970s), his fortunes might have been quite different.

A bottle of your favorite drink, for all you have said!

You've said it all! Someone needs to educate NL'ders about Networking and the importance of building a proven social circle as you grow up. They keep mentioning otedola, adenuga and the rest. For every destined Adenuga, there are thousands of other unattained potentials wasting around from public sec schools.

Nl'anders really need a change in mentality... Not everyone who sends their kids to this schools are thieving politicians. There are lots of Nigerians earning legit money from their legitimate endeavors.

Thanks bro.... Cheers

You still haven't understood the fact that some Nigerians are stinkingly rich, some of their parents are in overseas or have businesses overthere but just want their children to stay close home maybe not to adopt foreign cultures

You miss the point.

Bill Gates attended Lakeside Prep School a private primary school in Seattle with fees currently $32,000 so he had the background and pedigree to get him into Harvard and the knowledge and skills to found Microsoft from university before he dropped out.

His parents invested in his education right from the start. Obviously as people have stated you should not be borrowing money to pay fees or sending kids just to feel among, but for those who value the education and foundation it gives the kids and can afford it I say go for it.

Another example, Mark Zuckerberg attended private school and got interested in programming from elementary school which is our equivalent of primary school. he attended Philips Exeter academy in New Hampshire with tuition of $47,000 currently so please stop using the excuse of they dropped out of university.
