You still dey on IVM, a hundred thread will not improve IVM's popularity but if they do demos and a nationwide drive campaign then it is possible for buyers to see what the car can do. Product placement in a couple of Nollywood movies with good drivers will help too, remember Chevy Camaro from Transformers movie.

The government is not the only business out there.
wow Bro, you nailed it.

Purring all these CBN forex restrictions aside, the FG should be thinking of complete ban on use of foreign made cars by government officials. Even is Innoson may not be able to meet up with demand, the Ministry of science and technology and trade and investment should think up something to support companies like Innoson to boost its production capacity.

For starters, the 108 SUVs the NASS wants to buy for committee assignments, if those 108 vehicles can be ordered from Innoson, then I know the government is serious. For any other vehicles they want to procure, I understand Nissan and KIA have plants in Nigeria now, the CBN should find a way to completely block government officials from buying these things from outside the shores of Nigeria.

When the government starts using these vehicles, it would encourage the ordinary Nigerian to also patronise them. There are many other ways the government can save forex besides an outright banning of the use of ATM cards abroad.

How can we have beauties like this being made in Nigeria and yet the government still goes abroad to squander scarce foreign exchange to buy Toyota vehicles?

Get your nose out of the government's butt and try to sell you product to the Nigerian market if it is worth buying.

People like you think the eagles should be given the world cup because they look good on training pitch how about winning matches first.

Never use Innoson and government on the same line enough fine baara.

Whenever talk of the automotive policy, GEJ, and Buhari shows up on any thread a lot of primates follow with their primitive opinion which always excludes what they as an individual can do.When they start putting their money where their fingers clicks then we start going forward.

Go bank borrow money buy Innoson, Nissan or Kia built in Nigeria the policy was made for you to do that then do it and come here to boast of the immense benefit of your purchase stop howling about how someone never give you banana; go earn it yourself.

A nation is banning the use of ATM cards by its citizens outside it's shores in order to prevent capital flight, I suggest that a policy should be made for government offices at least to buy only made in Nigerian vehicles to also prevent capital flight, and this is what a supposedly smart person has to say to me?

FYI, I am not in anyway related to Innoson and I have no links with the company whatsoever. When nations want to prevent capital flight and save their economy, an important step they take is banning the importation of items which can be produced locally. I was only trying to make #CommonSense.

Strange observation. In New Delhi India, 80% of the cars and motor bikes driven/riden by Indians are made in India largely by three home grown automobile manufacturers (Maruti, Tata and Mahindra). As strange as thise vehicles look, they love them ...... government officials and institutions like police, customs all use them. You only find third party brands driven by a few diplomats and foreigners. That initiative alone keeps a sizable percentage of national income and jobs in the country.
