Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 12:52pm On Sep 11, 2009 |
The framework is working perfectly well (or at least by 98% both client and server side) but online is having some bugs. I will just take a little break and get back to it. |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 6:05am On Sep 14, 2009 |
Everything appear to be working well offline and online, i am still doin my own testing. i will post a demo link shortly. . . . I have improved on the gui scripts and had to borrow one or 2 scripts from jquery plugin repository. . .like i said much earlier, my client sided framework supports some jquery core plugins, just slight modifications need to be made for them to work well. |

nitation, that javascript attack you threw at me the other time (escaped in the url) - i have finally learnt how to block it. The framework is working well, i am doing a revamping of the old framework in the test site - copy, paste and replace operations. By next week, i should be ready to do the full review of the framework. . . |

netghost: hmmm ...*fingers crossed*Kaarrrramba! whats that? btw, i just finished a simple form API, that is very easy to use - supports nice and smooth frontend and backend validation. Can be used by people with average knowlege of php/mysql. And it can be plugged into existing cms / framework. I borrowed some techniques from smarty engine and drupal forms api. Am plugging it into this framework to complete a particular job am working on, mehn, i need to sleep small o. |

Caramba! now i come back to my thread again, progress report: phew, this thread was created Jun 13, 2009. Mehn, it has been many looong years. I actually completed the framework, and i have used it for quite a good number of websites - close to hundred i think. I was going to make it opensource, however, due to our Nigerian developers not being supportive, i made it opensource only for myself. But i am now planning to launch it online together with my new suite of websites. I have been making plans and progresses silently in the background, i will be updating this page soon. Meanwhile, i am still open to suggestions. |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by mitey(m): 11:18pm On Aug 07, 2013 |
^^^^ Ehmm... How about beta testing? You know, there might be a few stray bugs here and there that a community of developers here can help identify. Also you have to consider benchmarking, server compatibility issues and a host of other stuff. #Just Saying. Maybe |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 9:34am On Aug 08, 2013 |
Yeah, that is why i am making it opensource, i am working on making it simpler to use, then i will put it up on my website, and also on git, thanks |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by mitey(m): 10:30am On Aug 08, 2013 |
I didn't realize that you were going to make it opensource. No be my fault this your statement confuse me small. *dhtml: Anyway, the boys are ready for whenever you release it. We dey your back. |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 8:54pm On Aug 08, 2013 |
There is a particular twist i want to make into this framework - i want to make it kinda like plug-and-play to an extent such that the key features of the framework can be used on other platform. An example - drupal has a very lovely form API, i have something similar in my framework - but i want to move my form api to standalone library so that you can use it on other platforms other than my framework. So i am creating an opensource framework that uses a "cross-platform library". This means that you can for instance decide to use the session management library of the framework in your own handcoded project, without necessarily using the framework for your stuff. I have studied numerous frameworks and CMSes over time, and have created quite a number for my personal use. So i am not interested in duplicating any particular framework or cms, i am just going to be "porting over features" (not stealing mind you). Right now, i am working on the FORMS API. Some part of it will be like drupal API, but i want something more flexible. For instance, what if i decide to design my contact form with dreamweaver? and i still want the framework/formapi to process, validate the form both frontend and backend? with minimal coding? Those are areas that quite tasking in drupal - theming drupal forms - phew. Once the form api is ready for testing, i will let you guys know. Dont worry, it wont take forever, because i already have different versions of the form api, i am just merging codes and crosschecking to make sure it is not head-breaking to use. |
Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 9:26pm On Aug 10, 2013 |
The FORM API Standalone that will be used in the product is almost complete. The form API is a script that can: 1. Generate forms dynamically from yaml 2. Import html form templates designed from dreamweaver and elsewhere 3. Can validate the forms from the backend and also from the frontend 4. Support file attachment, single or multiple file attachments 5. Submit the result of the form to a function, url or to a cms or framework - in future, i will make plugins to allow programmers to use the form api on other platforms like drupal or joomla Phew, let me stop there. I have already achieved steps 1-3, finishing step 4. Example: http://.net/yaml/contact.php Source: http://.net/yaml/contact.php.txt The source of the form is in yaml source: http://.net/yaml/contact.theme.txt The yaml supports all HTML4 and HTML5 tags, this means you can create tables, embed or do any stuff with the yaml. This makes it easy to design almost any form with yaml no matter how complete the form may be. And all html attributes are supported as well. - this has already been achieved Of course, you can supply the yaml code directly to the formapi without calling it up from an external script. |

Re: :: Dhtml Framework Evolution by Nobody: 6:47pm On Aug 29, 2013 |
Added session management module, this means that the framework allows developers to set and retrieve session data with a single command irrespective of the cms hosting the framework. Also added user management - you can access the user object of the hosting framework to retrieve informations like name of current user logged in, email address et all Working on the database class and other relevant classes. Launch date - http://www.dhtmlframework.com/ - is getting really close indeed! i must speed this up!! |
