I rarely listen to Naija music, but there are some songs that I just couldn't help listening to as it plays through the airwaves.
One of such is KATAPOT by Reekado. That song was so cool, the beat, the lyrics and the delivery... In fact, the song kept ricochetting through my mind even when I sleep, I just had to search for, and download it the next day.

As for Lil Kesh, sometimes I like his style of rap, but don't have any idea of what he's sputtering.

Korede Bello is my main man, I love his simplicity and humility.

Though I don't like Nigeria music much because of their rubbish lyrics but I think Next Rated should be for artist with most hits. So my vote is for LIL KESH

But honestly, reekado was the last i was expecting to win.... Imagine someone winning best upcoming twice. When will he upgrade to an A-list star? ....Lil kesh or Cynthia Morgan would've been fair.
And i remember this trash happened like 2 years back when Sean tizzle was awarded instead of Burna boy. Burna went ahead the to win next rated at the Africa's most prestigious awards (MTV MAMA), whereas, Sean Tizzle wasn't even recognized at all.
In my own opinion, i think The Headies still have to step up their game in order to be reckoned as the so called Nigerian's Grammy cuz I've started smelling some conspiracies about the Headies.. Peace out

All those supporting reekado are probably all these gray boys or romantic niggaz, kiss daniel has nothing more than pink lips and just a few girls crushing on him. its not about boobs display so nothing for cynthia morgan.

The main brothers and the people that matter know the truth, that Lil kesh deserved that award. Headies have only displayed some sort of Don Jazzy Loyalty. I was even surprised that patoranking's 'My woman, My everything' didn't take home it's deserved glory.

Headies organizers have just shown that they're all heads and no brain.
