Saudi Executions: Implications For Nigeria by canuck(m): 9:30am On Jan 04, 2016
With the recent executions in Saudi, including that of Sheikh Nimr, a prominent Shiite cleric and critic of the Saudi royal family, there could be possible implications for Nigeria:

1) Nigeria, with majority of her Muslims being Sunnis, may be emboldened to execute Sheikh El Zak-Zaky, the Nigerian Shiite cleric arrested last month;

2) Adherents of extreme Wahhabism in the North or their Shiite counterparts may feel the need to take up arms;

3) Oil prices may start going up due to the unprecedented tension in the Middle East.

What are your thoughts?

My thoughts is on the no 3 which i bolded.....now that's something to celebrate cool

As for the nos 1 & 2, It's not today Saudi started persecuting Shiites. It's because of Shiites persecution of Sunnis with active partnership with Iran that triggered Al Qaeda uprising and indiscriminate bombings in Iraq. Any jihadist who wishes to start whatever in Nigeria can do so right away.

Enough of the threats and scaremongering abeg

This is good news for us if two of the world top Oil/Gas exporter decides to obliterate themselves. They should target only their oil installation in fact. I still wish Iran teach sissy Saudi Arabia a lesson.

The only sensible point is 3. Oil speculators could fear disruption of oil prices thereby causing oil prices to rise.

Oil prices will crash further no matter what happens. Saudi and Iran wont go to war. The worst they all do is just threaten each other
Russia and the Americans will wade into the issue and that is all. 2 major oil suppliers will join the oil exportation league this year with massive supply of oil. The usa and Iran

Price of oil will reduce for several reasons

1) Iran and Saudi won't fight direct war but will engage in proxy wars in several nations

2) These proxy wars will cost them money which will drive them to seek more money to win their wars

3) In order to raise more money to win their proxy wars, they will sell more oil.

4) More oil means supply exceeding demand which will lead to downward price.

That's the most likely scenario

the us no longer needs the oil as before,starting from this month the usa will start exporting oil to other nations . Their shale oil is one of the reasons for the crash in oil prices because the usa is no longer buying oil as before.
