The Peoples Democratic Party, Abia state chapter has rejected the judgement of the Court of Appeal sacking Governor Okezie Ikpeazu

In a statement issued by Governor Ikpeazu’s Senior Special Adviser on Public Communications, Sam Hart, the party expressed its decision to challenge the judgement of the Appeal Court and has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court to this effect.

The Supreme Court has until March 2, 2016 to decide the matter in line with the amended Electoral Act.

Sam Hart however stated that the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Appeal Court Judgment had not been received by the party 5 days clear after the judgement was given in a time-bound manner.

The party therefore only filed the Appeal to the Supreme Court based on what was heard in Court.

Hart further stated that upon receipt and extensive study of the CTC of the Appeal Court Judgment, additional grounds would be filed where necessary at the Supreme Court.

Above is the Notice of Appeal.

This appeal is laughable!

See How far lawyers can go to defend illegality.

First, from the onset, provisions were made in the electoral laws for the use of card readers. All stakeholders involved vetoed the use of card readers, including PDP.

For the election in questioned, the umpire, INEC specifically announced that only card readers would be used for accreditation. No manual accreditation.

Is PDP claiming to be ignorant of this instruction?

Lalasticlala this deserves FP

I have pity for the opposition parties in Nigeria. they still believe that there's anything called Appeal Court. Apc has bought and paid for the system so no where to run.

Let them slug it out at the supreme court. The person with the most convincing evidence, fact and argument will win.

But left to me, Ikpeazu is wasting his time and Abia State Resources. May God give victory to the winner.

The Supreme Court has until March 2, 2016 to decide the matter in line with the amended Electoral Act.

So why wait till three months so the other candidate will be governor for the next three months. our legal system is a joke
