And now full match stats and summary.........

*Rooney has now scored in four successive games for the first time for Man United since march 2012.

*It was Rooney's first at Anfield since January 2005. Incredible!

*Liverpool have now conceded more goals from corners than any other side in the premier league this season (7).

* Liverpool have now lost 12 times against United in the premier league era, more defeats than any other visitors.

* It is the first time in 8 games in a row at home that Liverpool have not scored and it is the first Klopp's side have not scored at home. So much for the Keeper and the defense.

* Van Gaal has won all four premier games against Liverpool as United's boss. Impressive!!!

* Wayne Rooney's (176 goals for United) has overtaken Thierry Henry (175 goals for Arsenal) for the most goals scored for a single club in the premier league history.

Next up for Man United is a home against Southampton....

While Liverpool are away to Norwich City. Games to be played on 23rd and 24th January.
