Don't be so quick to change your fuel pump as most people would suggest..... There is a TSB addressing difficult starts with 2006 S/C engines, perhaps your dealer can look into it: LR North America TSB# LTB00016 issued Dec 20, 2006 AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE: Range Rover Sport (LS) 4.2L Supercharged only VIN: 2006 MY vehicles only Range Rover (LM) 4.2L Supercharged only VIN: 2006 MY vehicles only CONDITION SUMMARY: DIFFICULT STARTING OR POOR IDLE AFTER STARTING SUPERCHARGED ENGINES Situation: A customer may report a concern that the vehicle is difficult to start if it has been left standing for between 2-5 hours, or that the idle quality is poor for a short period after starting. A calibration sensitivity issue in the Engine Control Module (ECM) software may be the cause. Action: Should a customer express concern regarding the above, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to update the Engine Control Module software. PARTS: No parts required for this bulletin. Information purposes only. TOOLS: IDS DVD 104 with Patch File 2 (or later) software installed. |

I want to start a restoration project for a 2006 Range Rover Sport SC that was "converted" to use Springs rather than the air struts it requires. |

So I have this 2006 Range Rover Sport SC with the air suspension stripped off and springs installed.... It also had a major leak in the cooling system

The amount of corrosion in this car I can only attribute to wrong coolant and use of hard water.... Worn aluminum parts and hoses will be changed!. 1 Share

I know we all want a car we can drive without having many issues to deal with. However, it is true that the LandRover/Range Rover have the air suspension as the major "faux pas" but if you have to do something about it let it be done right. Here is a video of how a proper conversion from air suspension to coil springs is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sErjNySvao Note that a special kit is made with spring capable of bearing the weight of the car as well as provide sufficient comfort. |

LeJeun3: I actually don't have one now cause mine was borrowed and never came back When I order a replacement I'll get one for you and one for Oga Gazzuzz (his OBD2 scanner is still sitting in Ibadan). It really is a useful tool. The one I had even had an extension for those clamps that's out of the way. That way you don't have to take 5 parts out to get to 1 measly clamp. |
