This was at an event which brought
Nigerian engineers and representatives of
the government together in Abuja with the
objective to discuss how to apply
indigenous engineering creativity for
effective economic development.
According to them, government has not
fully involved local engineers in projects
execution, thereby creating unemployment
and robbing Nigeria of huge foreign
exchange.
The National President of the society, Mr
Ademola Olorunfemi, told journalists that
the situation has not only led to huge
unemployment but has also rendered the
engineering sector under-developed; a view
corroborated by a former President of the
NSE, Olumuyiwa Ajibola.
Mr Olorunfemi urged President Muhamadu
Buhari to set policies that would improve
patronage of local engineering resources
for economic development.
However, the Permanent Secretary at the
Federal Capital Territory Administration,
John Chukwu, who was representing the
Federal Government, disagreed with the
engineers on their claim of lack of
patronage.
In spite of his argument, many of the
experts seemed to believe that major
engineering projects in Nigeria are handled
by the multinationals as most local
engineering companies are either
considered to be amateur or as lacking
capacity to execute such projects.
They maintained that this has to change
for Nigeria to successfully tackle its
economic challenges.

AUTODESK REVIT MEP 2015 TRAINING VIDEOS FOR MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS

Autodesk® Revit® MEP 2015 training videos teaches the core concepts and MEP specific tools for Autodesk Revit MEP 2015. You will learn how to create MEP systems, analyze those systems and then document those systems. Video lessons cover Revit fundamentals and user interface, modeling essentials, design analysis, families and family creation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, power and lighting, views and sheets, reports and schedules, work sharing and collaboration tools, and much more.

What is Autodesk Revit MEP?
Autodesk Revit MEP is a building information modeling (BIM) software created by Autodesk for professionals who engage in MEP engineering. MEP stands for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, which are the three engineering disciplines that Revit MEP addresses. By utilizing BIM as opposed to computer-aided drafting (CAD), Revit MEP is able to leverage dynamic information in intelligent models — allowing complex building systems to be accurately designed and documented in a shorter amount of time. Each intelligent model created with Revit MEP represents an entire project and is stored in a single database file. This allows changes made in one part of the model to be automatically propagated to other parts of the model, thus enhancing the workflow for Revit MEP users.

What are the benefits of using Revit MEP?
Individuals who currently work in or are pursuing careers in the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering fields will discover many benefits of using Revit MEP. The BIM workflow offered by Revit MEP not only maximizes productivity but also helps to streamline your design and documentation workflows; speeding projects from design to completion while automating updates across your model with a single design change. Autodesk Revit MEP offers many other tools and features that can enhance productivity such as Building Performance Analysis, Autodesk 360 Integration, Construction Documentation, Pressure and Flow Calculations, Pressure Loss Reports, Parametric Components, and much more. stakeholders to make more informed and accurate design decisions that not only reduce the time it take to complete a project but also have a significant impact on overall building performance.

Instead of an attic with a few test tubes, bits of wire and odds and ends, the attack on the atomic nucleus has required the development and construction of great instruments on an engineering scale.

The real world is far too complex and unpredictable to make something like the idea of humanity controlling its own evolution or engineering itself - well, I wouldn't say impossible but it should be approached with a degree of caution.

think we can question whether degrees are antediluvian. Online learning has flexibility. Why not master courses in energy, writing, communications, and engineering and get a credential?
