Is Dele Alli The Next Big Thing For Spurs? by luciomoggi(m): 7:23am On Jan 28, 2016
It hasn't taken Dele Ali a long time to win the hearts of the Spurs fans since making his debut in the season opener against Manchester United this season but it can be said that it has taken him a shorter period to score a goal of the season contender away at Crystal Palace .

Ali is so good that most people don't know he is still just 19. He can play as a midfielder or behind the striker as a creator which he has done this season
without fuss. This season alone, Mauricio Porchetino has turned the last season League One player to a "Great" in the making if he continues with his progress. Ali has played 21 games and scored six goals with four assists and created 26 chances. Also he has completed 566 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 77% of which 76% were forward passes . He has a shot accuracy of 56% and even with his light weight and average height (1.85m and 76kg), he has won 46% of his physical duels. His best game of the season is last weeks game against Crystal Palace where he terrorised the South London club and even scored a wonder goal.

Born to a Nigerian father , Bamidele Ali was born and raised in Milton Keynes and joined the youth system in the club aged 11 and broke into the first team aged 16 (five years later) where he scored his first goal on his first start in a 6-1 win against Cambridge at Stadium MK. Ali was so good in MK Dons in the 2014/2015 season that Spurs parted with a significant amount as high as £5m for his services on 2 February 2015, of which he was loaned back to MK Dons for the reminder of the season. Ali was impressively effective in the 2014/2015 season that he guided MK Dons to automatic promotion to the Championship after they ended the season as runners-up to Bristol City. This earned the young Englishman the Football League Award as the Young Player of the Year. He left MK Dons scoring 18 goals in 65 games.

In a bid not to lose Ali to Nigeria , after Wimbledon former player John Fashanu announced he would try and convince him to play for Nigeria, Ali was quickly given a call up for the Three Lions of England in for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Estonia and Lithuania. He scored his first England goal with a long range shot to beat Hugo Lloris against France in Wembly.

While football is filled with promising youngsters who never fulfilled their potential, one thing clear for all to see is that in Dele Ali , Spurs have struck "Gold". One only hopes he keeps his head grounded and continues to progress .
