WhatsApp doesn't require invitation for contact update. All u need do is update ur phone contact and refresh your whatsApp
BBM requires invitation, and you await acceptance before your contact list can be updated.

WhatsApp allows use of personal pictures for wallpaper
BBM has preset pictures for wallpaper
Recently, it was discovered that u can use whatsApp as a dico, encyclopedia etc by adding "wiki" to a group.
