The best is to look for the car you like and find out the price it's sold in naira then go to your local dealers and buy from them. In case of something else, you can always go to their location and involve the police .be smart guys. 850k is not a small money. I feel for you but I don't think there's anything u can do about it and I doubt u are getting either the car or money back .7 months has elapsed. Just say bye bye to your money and start saving for another. You never even met the buyer .how will u recognise him .and u don't have receipt nor bank teller for the transaction coz it was done via bank transfer. . Payment via online transfer can easily be traced. The op does have enough proof of crediting the seller's account.

And the op can get his money back if he really wants to.

You trusted Chucky234 with your fund and he defaulted. What you should have done is to have the driver arrested the moment he came back for the car.

He claims to be a friend of yours yet he went out of his way to sell you a lemon. chucky234 believes in the "out of sight, out of mind" theory. forgetting that problems don't disappear because of distance.

he's had over 8 months to replace this vehicle and still no show but has had the audacity to post up "bargains" and bonanza offers of similar vehicles in the auto section in the same time period.

I suggest you aim for a full refund and damages. the value you paid for that vehicle has dropped drastically due to the current exchange rate. I also recommend you take your time to search for a car yourself. A vehicle purchase is not something you just dive into head first.

If you try and fix an inspection appointment with them some of them will disappoint you or dodge you for days, simply because the car is undergoing repairs at a mechanics hideout somewhere. Meanwhile these guys will post CLEAN car no fixes to be done"

I think major dealers should be registered separately, casual dealers should fill online forms with verifiable info before posting or subrent an advert space from a major dealer.

The criteria should include basic biometrics, BVN and a sworn undertaken signed and endorsed by a Notary public.

The moderators of yhis forum shouldnt be exempted from the ills of yhis forum. I really dont appreciate the fact that each time, we are warned of how to and how not to do business. The world has gone E and we must follow suite.

Mods on yhis column must find a way of ensuring that all dealers on this forum are tested and trusted. Yes it might take some logistics but whatever be it, we shoild be able to use this forum and sleep knowing we are in good hands. Have had cause to do quite a number of importations and d deals pull through. Why then should I be duped in my own country.

I advocate for a reset of the auto forum and lets start afresh and do genuine and safe businesses. Even if it means starting with just one dealer. I am sure it would pay Nigeria and Nigerians off in the long run.

What happens here is basically a site where peeps check out the prices of cars and then go and buy elsewhere. Its also not fair to some of our genuine dealers.
