On 27th of january last month at exactly 2am, mum's scream halted our joyous sleep. Jerked back to reality by her scream, discovered our very own cat has bitten her. We never read any meaning to it nt until d leg started swelling after two days. As i type this, we are awake which has been a tradition after d ugly incident. Can't type much. Pls help a brother. Things are gettng worse day by day. Only an insane person posts incredulous story. Will eva b ready to answer any question. This is a true life story.

Don't let this incident make you hate cats forever, because if anything happens to your mum, i bet you'll never have love for a cat again.
When such things happens, you take her straight to the hospital immediately. If the situation persists, find another better hospital to get a secondary opinion. Who knows what is currently spreading in her blood? This is your mum we are talking about o.

As for the issue of visiting a hospital., dat we hav done on countless occassion wit succour stil eluding us. Could it b a spiritual attack. I thought cats dnt bite,,,bt alas! Hw wrong was i. Is there any drug dt can b administered on her to alleviate d pain? Pls help

Bia, there is nothing like spiritual attack, what is wrong with Africans? cats are carnivorous animals that rarely bite, doesn't mean you don't have isolated cases, even when it happens, its usually due to been provoked or teased...Please take you mother to a good hospital let them run test on her, there is a possibility she was infected from the bite, hence the swelling and inflammatory response.

A good dose of Co amoxiclav IV antibiotics or any good broad spectrum ABX for 5 to 7 days plus anti inflammatory pain relief should sort her out.. You can apply ice pack and give her Ibuprofen before heading to the hospital..

Please don't take her to any so called traditional roadside quack "doctor", find a proper physician..

My family owned cats for close to 25yrs and no one has ever been threatened talkless of been biten.. Good luck

Cats do bite, at anytime if the day, but they don't attack people unless u provoke or hold them down, then they may bite and scratch n they are know for transferring rabies. Am wondering which hospital u took her to and what drugs/treatment she was given
